Yes selecting a car is like searching females to marry as there are plenty of cars in the market. Almost all the cars are worth for its price, though taste differs. Which car did you finally buy David?

You have to choose what is best for your needs and what you can afford. That's how I've always bought my cars.
When I was younger and had no kids, I bought a Mustang. I loved that car!!! But once my kids were here, I had to trade it in on something more practical, so I bought a station wagon. We needed the room for vacations, picnics, etc.
Once the kids were grown, I bought an economy car because it was all I needed.
When that got old, I bought a small SUV because I do a lot of gardening (I'm hoping one day to have a plant nursery) and need lots of room for my gardening equipment, plants, etc.
I guess the first thing to aim for is what you can afford. Then get what you need in that price range.
