Do You Add Tone When Reading An Email?

Have you ever found yourself putting tone into an email when you are reading it? I have. I noticed that it also depends on the mood I am in when I am receiving the message for the 1st time. Have you ever misinterpreted a message because of it? What was the cause and effect?
