Your thoughts on watershed?

I thought it was pretty good, although I thought there was way too much "clean" (non-growling) vocals for my liking. I thought it was way better than ghost reveries though, which is my least favorite opeth album.

It seems to be okay. I really enjoy their older work, especially My Arms, Your Hearse (who doesn't like that album if they like Opeth?). I agree, they're watering down their music with too many clean vocals, though. I enjoyed them when they were used once in a while. They were special to hear on a song like "Credence" out of the entire album of My Arms, Your Hearse. But now a days, they are just way overused. I enjoyed the album Damnation because they meant for it to be all clean, acoustic, and folky. But to keep releasing albums with mostly clean vocals kind of disappoints fans of the older material.

i liked Watershed alot. Especially the first track, "Coil". The next track "Heir Apparent" had alot growling in it. All in all i think it was a nice mixture of that "clean" vocals and growling. It reminds me of what their cd Damnation could have been had their record label done what they were supposed to do. A double disc set with one disc being the heavy stuff while the next disc had their softer side. Instead they created two separate cd's to be sold independently. i give Watershed four horns up.
