Well, I'm just interested how many people in MyLot uses 'american' english and how many use 'british' english. I'm Korean and I used to learn 'american' english. In fact I always thought that English was all the same but I figured people spell 'colour' as 'color' and 'favourite' as 'favorite'. I mean it doesn't really make things that much different but it seems quite interesting how people write on MyLot.

I am american and so I use american english, but I have lots of british, australian, and canadian friends so I am familiar with all the dialects. But yes english is just like any other language. For example there is Mexican spanish, Cuban spanish, Spain spanish, etc. Brazilian Portuguese and Portuguese portuguese. All languages have varying dialects. It is rather interesting to compare and contrast them though. In the United states, we say swimming pool, in the UK it's a swimming bath. Lol definitely some interesting differences

Well personally I speak "American" English. The reason being is because I live in America and it was what I heard growing up. When I went to Europe I was surprised at the giant lanuage barrer that I had while there. Even though many of the words are the same there are a ton that are different or even ones that have completely different meanings. I suppose it's one of those when in Rome type things. Given that most of the world assocates English with "American" English, thats the one I will continue to speak.

I use American English and my dialect/slang is Pennsylvanian! I do love to hear other English Speakers, as accents are fun to listen to and learn!

well since I am an American I will jolly well write and talk American English without all the u s in our words. If I were a brit I would probably use british English but I am not. therefore I will sp;eak and talk and write american english. The pronunciation is the same so why use extra darn letters.lol.

I don't really know if I speak British or American English. I'm from Belgium and at school we are tought British English, I catch my self all the time using American English though. I guess that's because I watch a lot of American TV shows. I think it's quite fascinating how many differences there are in one language. :) But I don't really pay that much attention to how people write on myLot.
