Do you have piggy banks. Do you usually put in your coins in it. Do you do it for your savings or for what. I heard that having a piggy bank at home is no good, for as if you are saving for your sickness. I dont believe on that but on some instances I sometimes believe on that. How about you?

I used to always have a piggy bank. My favorite was the panda piggy bank. The most I saved was about 1,300 baht. I only put in 10-baht coins. When I was in Bangkok I sometimes wash my laundry in the vending machines. One load is 20-30 baht and it only accepts ten-baht coins. So I always had to save my 10-baht coins to use for my laundry and eventually it accumulated until I was able to save so much. Right now I don't have a piggy bank as I don't have a job yet but my piggy bank for the moment is my paypal.

I see that you are pretty active here and pretty soon you will get paid, I'm sure. I'm not earning much from my online activity yet but soon I hope. But it's better than nothing. OH by the way, I bought my boyfriend a Barong Tagalog from my mylot earnings.

I had a piggy bank when I was in school and have stopped keeping one after that. Now I have an envelope in my cupboard where I sometimes put in a 10 rupee note. I dont know how much money is collected in there. And there is no particular purpose of keeping this money aside.

Thats youre piggy bank, one day you look into it and youll see, youve save much to buy something for you. When i opened up this discussion, I realized I too must have my very own piggy bank. I bought two small bases from my domestic travel sometime ago and I bought two bases. I look for it and now its near my room door and I am putting in my loose change. Thanks for the response.

Thats better, at least you can save more. Why the scarcity of coins, is it made of what elements, good to be smuggled for another form of merchandise, just kidding, but it might be true. Even here, some of our coins goes to some hands manufacturing items out of our coins. Thanks for the response.

We have a shortage of change in our city so I need change to use everyday. That is why I started keeping notes aside. And you end up saving more money too.

Actually the saying is wrong Bagumbayan, we do not save just for our illness. Some emergencies crop up suddenly, sometimes we do need money to buy something very urgently. We need cash then , right. If you do not have cash at home you'll have to run to the Bank or a neighbour for help. Suddenly you need to go somewhere how will you go? you cannot take your credit cards to all the places right? We need to have some money at home, so in olden days everyone was encouraged to have piggy banks. The amount will help for a rainy day..

As I said it is what other says. But I dont also belive on it. We need to save, but come to think of it, most of those in need of money from piggy banks are those that need be rush to the hospital. But maybe it is a coincidence but I am not saying it is true. I do have a piggy bank. Thanks for the response.

Hi! For me it might not be good for long term and for huge expenses but it can be good as petty cash. When you're really really broke and you dont have any change for transportation or something then getting a few coins on that piggy bank would definitely help. I do have a piggy bank, well, piggy banks actually. I have a big one and a small one. I use the big one for long term meaning for saving up on huge spending in the far future like maybe a new gadget or something. The small one I use for my extra coins. I mean when my allowance doesnt have any coins for the jeep ride I get some on that piggy bank. Its quite handy but the only problem is that I dont have that much savings left nowadays so I dont get to drop in a few coins on either of them. They are great for passive savings but that's all. They might let you buy a small grocery at the end of the month but I guess its not that well when you expect it to pay half of your bills.

Yes I have. I've heard of that saying too but I don't believe- maybe it just coincidence they might need to break the piggy to finance that matter. It's just all about saving you may use it in anytime you want. Let's increase it by putting in the bank or mutual funds. Good day!

My husband saves all his change for about 6 months in a piggy bank before he rolls it. That thing holds about 3 or 4 hundred dollars. I love that piggy bank. LOL!

i have heard about that too but never had minded it at all.. its just a "saying" and i think none have proven it correct. Saving is not just for our future sickness but to our future needs also..
