Do You Think It Matters What Time Of Day You Start A Discussion?

I have noticed that if I start a discussion real late at night (after 11pm EST) that I am less likely to receive responses. I don't know if it is a coincidence or what. Did you ever take notice of things like that? What time of day did you start a discussion you had the most response too? What time for the least?

I find that if I start a discussion before mid-afternoon (for example, it's currently 2:40pm here) then no one seems to see it. There are obviously peak times here on Mylot that it pays to post your discussions during. I suppose you have to see what the most popular nationality is here and then work to the peak time of that country.

That is a good point. I checked out the "users by location" and it appears the United States holds the most for myLot users. The only problem with that is that the United States has 6 different times zones (Hawaii, Alaska, Pacific, Mountain, Central, Eastern). Maybe it is just the luck of the draw:) Thanks for your response!

I have never noticed these things. Whenever I post discussions I never look at the time because I am always on MYLOT for the whole day. What I have noticed though is that on Monday MYLOT is always slow. So if it is a Monday you post you will have to give it some time for responses.

That is nice that you are able to be on most of the day :) Unfortunately for me, I can only log in and out spuratically through out the day when I have a lunch or break, or before or after work. My high times are the weekend. I did look back and Monday did seem to be a slower day for discussions that I posted. Thanks for your response! :)

I don't have any specific time to start the discussions in mylot.. When ever i loged in to mylot, when ever i found the idea, when ever i thought i will start the discussions. there is no time, no other issue for me to start the new duscusssion in mylot. You may be right to some extend.. but that is not only the reason, for getting the less responses, here you can find more and more discussion which is showing less responses, even though the same has been raised even in the day times, which you have mentioned, and also you can find lots of discussion which was having more than 100 responses or so.. for the discussions which has been raised in the off timing which you have mentioned after 11 pm EST. See, according to me, the time is not a matter to get more responses, because here in mylot you can find the people from all parts of the world, so, if you find the night timings, the same will be the day time for the other people in the other side of the world.. so, they start login to mylot and start working.. So, i dont think that time is not playing the vital role, to get the more responses.. If your discussion is a good quality subject, which may attract the people, the discussions defenatley get more responses, even after 2 days, from the date of starting.. All the very best.. thanks for the discussions

for me, it doesn't matter what time of the day I have losts of repsonses or not.. It depends maybe upon my topic? There are times that whatever time of the day I will post I have plenty of responses, It maybe necause my topic is interesting to them? there are times alose that I got less response. What I can say is that.. it depends upon the topic that interests the prople here to response. Good luck!!

I don't think so. I think that there always enough people on here that it will get answered. There are so many different times zones so I don't think that there is really anyway to know when more people would be online and watching.

Thanks for your response. You are right, there is no way to tell. Would be interesting if they could have an up to the minute statitics tab that would allow you to see the percentage of people that are logged on at that given time, broken down by country and time zone. I think I am just a statistics geek :)
