Cicero once said, we have two ears to hear and one mouth to speak so that we may listen more and speak less.
As I go about my daily routine of communicating to people, this reminds me to "actively" listen to others. That is, make a conscious effort to listen and understand what the other person is saying. Do you agree with this thought? Have you been a good listener lately?

ya..I believe in ur thoughts....but personally I dont have to make any effort at all to listen...I am a very good listener by nature...specialyy when it comes to my close friends. I like to help people out of their troubles for which first I have ti listen carefully and understand what their troubles are.

Yeah, but you can't always be the listener otherwise people will begin to take advantage of you and if your like me then you care when people are confiding in you. My best friend constantly complained and talked I listened till one day I realized a major stress in my life was her. I had to put a stop to it.

I agree that we should always be attentive to what the other party is saying to us. Active listening does not only mean the literal sense, it should also be the case when you make an effort to show that you "are" there, you are "present" to listen to what the other person is imparting.
It is only when you listen well that you are able to impart something of value to the other person. If you can give a sound and relevant response to him/ her, then you have been a good listener.
