Jazz all the way.. love how it sounds. Some swinging salsa or a nice jazz number always calms me down. A few rock songs I love also do the same .. i like classical too ...
As for bands i cannot put into any genres .. Enigma, Deep Forest, Waterbone, Massive attack have very nice calming songs.

well anything with fast music and good beats make a good choice for me ... but i like rock bands personally and enjoy all songs in Imran Hasmi's films (he is an India actor) as they are fast or very good to hear.

After a day of exhaustion. The music that makes me relax varies from jazz, bossa nova, rock, punk, ska, Jamaican Music, Brit pop and world music. For me, in every genre that I mentioned consist of tracks or songs that will surely make you relax. Like for example, rock. I'd pick "Into your arms" by Lemonheads, "Carnival" by The Cardigans, and "Build" by The Housemartins. Brit pop, any ballad songs from "Oasis" and "Ocean Colour Scene". Punk, "Good Riddance" by Green Day, "Spanish Bombs" by "The Clash", "She's A Sensation" by "Ramones". And a lot more. You see, not all relaxing music should only contain to only one specific genre. It really depends on how you pick your tracks. It's just like picking the right kind of fruits. :-)
