I am a late nite person. I study during the late night. As you know it will be very quiet and calm during that time. So i used to have the radio with me and i would play some light music on it to get the feel of having someone with me. If i do not listn to the music the other sounds such as somebody snoring or a cat making sounds might distract me and i would not be able to concentrate on my studies.

For me, it really depends on what I'm doing. I love the background noise, but when I start to get frustrated, I have to turn it off. For the most part, I do like having music on when I'm studying.

Maybe you should try to find one that really fits with you mood. If you can find one like that, the music will blend in naturally.

When i study i listen to loud music so it keeps me awake and focused. It seems to help when the songs u listen to while you are studying that you don't know the lyrics to because if you sing along to a tune that means you are probably focused on the song instead of the material you are studying.

Yes it helps. Normally, I like to listen to light music while reading novels.

For me, it has to depend on the subjct and the kind of song i am listening to. FOr example, i cannot play music, when i am trying to learn something by heart or doing some theory work. But yes, sometimes a good jazz number does helps in that.
When i am doin numerical problems, diagrams or just writing stuff, i usually do it with music playing. Rock being the favourite genre in that case.

It depends on what kind of music I'm listening to. If it's a soothing one, I enjoy it and it soothes and renews my mind. If it's a rock n' roll type, I can't study very well while listening to it. It really depends on what kind of person you are and what kind of music you like.
