Great Movie

I just saw this movie the other night. I thought it was a great movie and it really shows you the progression of things in Afganistan. One thing I think they forgot to mention, at least in the movie, was the rise of the taliban in the late 70's. I think that was an aspect of the whole situation that should have been brought into the story as well. Has anyone read the book? I plan on getting it from the library tonight to start reading when I am done with my summer class.

Tom Hanks hit another one out of the park with this one. I saw this movie in the theatre. It was fantastic. And one I will own. Looking back on it, funny to be alive during history making events. Wow.

Very true. I was a kid when most of this was going on but, my mom spent time in Afganistan in the early 70's so we were all very interested in what was going on over there during that time.
