How much RAM do you have and is it enough?

I bought a new computer about a month ago and I have to admit.. I'm over impressed with what you can do with 3GBs of RAM. I love The Sims 2... but it used to take AGES for my old computer to load so I didn't enjoy playing it that much. With my new desktop.. I can even run Itunes while still playing the Sims 2 Freestyle without any problems. What about you? How much RAM does your Desktop / Laptop have? Is it enough for all your needs??

Well, since the past one year, I've been having 1.5 GB ram.. Thats a 1024 mb upgrade to my previous 512 mb.. I see no necessity, as I am not a hardcore gamer.. I just browse mostly.. Thats all, so this is more than enough.. But lets face it, huge ram has its own problems.. Hybernation takes too long.. So I can only shut down everytime.

Well I never hibernate so I wouldn't know what to tell you. I've read so many rants about hibernation I never actually dared to try it. I always turn off my computer or just use the sleep feature. Doesn't hibernation take up huge amounts of disk space??

Hi itzurboykeith, hows your day my friend? Wow you have a good RAM for me its too much, but I think if you love to open many application at the same time, 3GB is reasonable capacity for a DDR2. I have one laptop using 1GB DDR2 Memory and I have also 1 personal computer that is using 1GB DDR2 Memory.

That reminds me. I gotta buy more RAM! I only have 512MB and it a pain in the.. in loading programs. Definitely not enough. Applications nowadays hogs more and more memory. (sigh) miss those days when 4MB ram was one of the best.

waww, 3 gbs is huge! mine is 1.25 gbs. that's enough for me, since i don't usually use "heavy" programs which are "memory eater".

Hello Itzurboykeith I have a very old desktop and I have only 384MB of RAM on it. I don't play big games on it. I usually use it for internet, writing my project for the faculty, watching movies and once in a wile playing Counter Strike or Age of Empires 2 (I really like this game). This summer maybe I will change my Desktop with a new one or an Laptop. I have to wait a little to see how the future cash flow is going to be. Take care and have a great day ScarFace

Yeah I know more RAM can make your pc work faster and it can carry much of the load my pc ain't got that big ram because it's expensive to buy new one so I just content myself to the lower version. I love sim as well too.

I have 1gig of RAM and haven't ran into any problems as of yet, however. 1gig isn't going to cut it as I want to get DiabloIII! That doesn't come out for a while so I have some time to start saving up for some more ram, and of course. a new processor. =O

When I found out I was going to be stuck with Vista on my new lappie, I changed the order at Dell from 1 gb to 2gb. It seems to work well as far as processor speed.
