I have difficulty taking advice from others.

I am never too slow to give advice to another person when they ask for it, and I try my best to give the person the most helpful answer possible. I have had people tell me that they have taken my advice and it works. But, I know that, if someone were to give me the same advice, I would not follow it. Whenever people see me having trouble, and they give me advice, I tell them thank you, but I never follow it.
Do you or know someone with, or have, the same problem that I do? Someone who can give advice, but not take it? Not even their own advice?

Thank you for responding. C: You are right about the circumstances, I thought about that after I posted the discussion. I try to take a problem that I am having, and pretend that it belongs to someone else, then create advice for it, but I still will not take it.

I NEVER take people's advice. I'm so silly that way. Of course I usually regret it later on, but I like to carve my own path. I usually don't even ask for advice though because I know I won't follow it. =P They just give it. Then I say "Thanks" and do my own thing...lol

I'm always giving other people advise. I'd rather be the provider than receiver. I have a big problem with that to. I take in what they're saying, but it just doesn't stick for some reason. Sometimes they'll get all upset and then I feel like a jerk. I guess they don't think that their advise is helpful? I don't know.

I like to find my own way, it just does not come to me for a while, not until that moment where I am just ready to break. I guess I am more of an independent person when it comes to figuring out who I am and what I need to do with my life. Thank you for responding.
