Ok so my son is 6yrs old and has just realized how his body works. My question is how in the world do u explain to a 6yr exactly what those parts of his body are used for and make him understand? isn't that way to young to b asking such questions? what is this world coming to? kids are learning things way to soon these days.

When I was a kid, my father used to give me some books on human body ( in cartoon-pictures ) . After reading these books ( traveling in the human body, how human fighting with bacterias ), I understand human body and it works.
You can accompany your son reading these type of books, and explain to him if he asks questions.

Children are naturally curious and they always know more than their parents suspect. Therefore Never Never tell a child anything that is not the God's Honest Truth. When a child is ready for the Answer, He/She will ask the Question. That is the right time to give the child the correct answer. Your problem will solve it's self if you follow this advise.

The lessons are really becoming so advanced but that was easy since you have your body and your son's body as a concrete example of how the body works. For a six year old child, you can easily explain to them that eyes are for seeing things, in knowing the color, size and shapes simply showing them things and describing it to them. You even blindfold him or tell him to close his eyes to know that they eyes when open do see things. Providing concrete examples are the best way for me in teaching a child.
My five-year old daughter who is Grade 1 now is having place value and value up to hundred thousand. Their lesson are indeed advanced and I don't even like the way the teacher is handling their lesson because she keeps on feeding abstract information. Math do need concrete example just like the golden beads of Montessori schools.
Truth is, parents are partly to be blamed because we tend to enroll our child to schools that have more advanced curriculum than those they use in public elementary school.
