Hi all,
I just downloaded the Firefox 3 and I think I am not yet ready to install it. I did research on many review sites and found that even though many many people like the way Firefix 3 works and looks, there are many many more who don't like it for some reasons.
For example, A lot of Firefox extensions are not Firefox 3 compatible and the developers will take time to come up with a version release for Firefox 3. This will make many users not to install the Firefox 3 right away.
In my case, I am a web designer and I have a lot of extensions which are really useful to me while working. Installing Firefox 3 will not let me use all these extensions. The Firefox 3 looks beautiful for sure and I would love to see it in action on my PC but there are these things that put me in two minds.
What do you think? Why would you use the Firefox 3 and if you won't could you please share the reason?
Thanks

I very recently installed Firefox 3.
I was not aware that using it could be problematic.
I wish I had read your post before I installed it.
Thanks for posting about Firefox 3.

oh no! don't feel sad for having installed FF3. Its is a good browser!! In fact, it is an improvement to a Top 2 browser used.
I just want to know if you faced some problems with firefox 3. Or, if you really like using it.
Thanks for the reply though. its a +

As promised, I am back to give my reviews. I installed and tried FF3 in 2 computers that I usually use. This one, on a P3 with a DSL connection, FF3 runs smoothly. I really noticed the difference in terms of speed so I will stick to this. But the other computer, with almost the same specifications, I switched back to FF2. It sucks, it was so slow as if I am using a dial-up. I guess the reason there is the connection. I connect through a wireless router there, even the speed of connection is 54K, it was really really slow... Thanks...

I use Firefox Three. I am waiting until the AVG 8 becomes compatible with it, but that is not a problem because I am careful with what sites I go to. I have not put in the other extensions, but the weather one and the foxy tunes plus the no script that I use a lot is compatible. I do not want to put in too many extensions and slow it down. It is much faster than Firefox Two. I will have to go to the Firefox site and add the other extensions as they come in.

I do want to install it, but I do have the same problems like you. I work on a lot of blogs and websites so I do use a lot of plugins and addons and I'm afraid I can't use them for a long while. I guess I stay on FF2 as long as the plugins aren't updated.

I've got firefox 3 downloaded to my computer. and so does my b/f. we both like it a lot. it is different yes, but, a lot better than the 2.0 version.
There's still a lot of addons that haven't been updated yet to the 3.0, which i've been checking out myself. i like the addons that firefox has, and some of them that i did have with the 2.0, isn't compatible yet with the 3.0.
3.0 is very good now, since they've done a lot of change to it. that's how i found out that it is released t o the public was through mylot here.
glad that they got it released now! we were waiting for them to release it!

Well, I don't think you need to listen to what these many many people are saying. The best thing to do is try it yourself. It's true that there are extensions add-ons whatever that is not yet compatible to firefox 3.0. Well, one thing is for sure, they will be available soon enough. Most of these are the themes that are not very important. But have you checked the PicLens add on? The Fast dial? the url fixer? If these many many people say no to firefox 3 yet because of these extensions add ons etc not yet available on firefox 3.0, well i say no to other versions of firefox and all other browsers out there for not having what firefox 3.0 has to offer. Peace ^_^

If you're into web design the more reason you've got to have firefox 3.0. In fact you have to view your design in most of the popular browsers to see how your designs are rendered. I'm using firefox 3 and most of the add on I'm using are already updated to it. If you want you can install ver 3 to another folder within your firfox 2 folder so that you can compare the two. Your missing a lot if you haven't tried 3.0 yet.)

I know almost nothing about Firefox. However, I have downloaded it and tried to use it a couple of times recently as I am in the process of becoming a ChaCha Guide, and they require it. It seems a little sluggish to me. Perhaps after spending more time with it, I'll know more about it.

I haven't downloaded it yet, but I fully intend to. There are always bugs and kinks to be worked out when something is new, but I have always been very satisfied with Firefox. I hate it when I get on someone else's computer and they only have internet explorer! I am very interested to see how they have changed it.

Well, with any beta versions that is released, there is bound to be some teething period.
If the current browser is still good and serving you well, then stick with it. No reason to change till you feel the newer version can serve you better.
I didn't know the Firefox 3 is already out.
Will probably be checking them out in a while.
Heh heh heh... some thing new to explore.

while I don't use alot of extensions in my work I just use the internet to do research and many other things. but I will say that I probably won't download and update to it becuase I use I.E. alot more than mozilla. Sorry I just tend to like I.E. alot better. Have a nice day.
