Is your home office too noisy? I found a concert hall full of products to transform your workspace into a quiet zone, Working at home may free you from having to listen to your coworkers' noisy phone conversations, but that doesn't guarantee your home office will be a peaceful retreat. Each neighborhood has noises that are nearly impossible to escape. From buzzin glawn mowers to barking dogs to loud pool parties next door. Although you can't muffle 10 percent of the sound in your home or comming from outsite your home, you can take effective steps oto cut the noise. If your home office is full of hard surfaces, for instance, you might as well move into an echo chamber. Acoustical eperts suggests that at least 25 percent of ur office should have soft surface, such as carepting, wall coverings, curtains, or upholstered furniture, to absorb sound super soundproofing. like in film halls you can reduce the sound reflection, what do you think? what are the sound proofing methods that you've applied yet in your home?

all that you mentioned are good. i also read somewhere that increasing your foliage outside the house will help. and i've recently discovered something that i find most effective: i use earplugs. i double it up with a nonworking headset. :)

while i was responding to your post, i, too, was finding the noise outside of our house intolerable - barking dogs, screaming neighbors, banging & creaking gates, roaring vehicles, the works. i actually got up, found some ear plugs, and put on the defective headset we had. it really worked - i could still hear the noise outside but it didn't jar too much, and of course, i could still make conversation the only other person in the room. have a good day! :)

why don't you close your window.. hehe.. actually you are talking about reducing sound inside your office as well. yeah carpet laying will absorb the sound in large amount, reducing the noise pollution in your workstation. I live very farm from the urban area. There are very less number of vehicles that passes by. So i don't need to apply much effort to reduce noise inside my house. But yeah, in my office it is very noisy and no action has been taken.
