My friends had a debate about this problem yesterday. What do you think about it?

sure why not?! there are no laws that say a man can't learn how to cook..in fact men are greater cooks than women..we have a lot of famous chef that are men so i think there is no problem and no need for a debate as to whether a man should learn or not how to cook.

marsphuchung, Even successful business men need to know how to cook. He may need to take care of himself until he becomes a successful business man.

Definitely! I say this with a loud voice. If you'd permit me, I'd like to deliver my point and expound my reply. You see, I'm a married woman for more than five years now and we have a daughter who is turning three this year. I really believe that a man should learn how to cook for a lot of reasons. For one, as I have mentioned earlier; when a man gets married, there will come a point in his marriage life that his wife will get pregnant and during this stage, he must take charge on a lot of household chores, including but not limited to cooking meals, particularly when his wife is unable to attend to them. More so when his wife has just given birth to their child. Not only this. If and when his wife gets sick, it's normal that she couldn't cook for the family; he has no choice but to do it himself. How about if he's single or remains single? Just the same, he should know how to cook even the basic meals for his own survival. He could buy from food chains at the start or on certain occasions but he will soon realize that he has to do cooking for himself.

Every man needs to know how to cook. It is necessary to know how to cook even if he plans to marry. One never know what will happen in the future. If he knows how to cook he will know what the cost of groceries are these days and that is a big eye opener to some men. A person can never know too much.

marsphuchung,Good Day!A man should learn how to cook because of the following reasons:1) In case of emergency, where you are assigned to a solitary place that requires cooking aside from just eating fruits or raw meals. 2) In other reasons, to please your mate if your mate does not feel well or just create a romantic dinner for two. 3) It is an added talent like riding a bicycle such that when you learn how to cook it is very difficult to unlearn them. 4) It is an art and science. Most known chefs are male and underwent several years just to master the art and science of cooking. 5) It does not make you less of a man. 6) Survival, if no one will cook for you. 7) When you know the basics of cooking, you can apply in other related jobs. Such as in chemistry, chemical engineering or metallurgical engineering. You may have the entire ingredients but if you do not mix them in a right procedure and techniques you may not arrive to whatever the result should be. Same with cooking, one ingredient should not empower over the other ingredients. 8) Cooking can relieve you of stress. 9) Can be a source of your added income. and 10) Discovery of new dishes or procedures in cooking. Have a good day and try to learn something new today. Ferritic

I think men should learn how to cook, too. Such skill may not be required for men's everyday living since, generally, men always have somebody else to rely on for the preparation of the food they eat. But just the same, it will certainly be an advantage if they themselves know how to cook.
