I could remember each word of our National Anthem. I sang it every Mondays and Fridays of my school life. And now that I am a professional, I still could memorize it.

hi chennai! yep. i think i can sing our National Anthem without any mistakes. well maybe, passable errors on some words, but acceptable because it would still have the same meaning. i don't always sing during Flag ceremonies or during any programs where our national anthem is played, but i'm pretty much sure i can sing it well. i remember this one celebrity who got the honor of singing our National Anthem in a boxing match which was televised world wide. he created a buzz in our local showbiz industry because he made a huge mistake while singing the anthem. there was one paragraph missing and he earned a lot of criticism for it. too bad. he should have internalized the song from the start.

Hi chennai, students in my country usually are taught to sing our national anthem during primary school days. We learn and understand the wording of the song. After we could recite the whole anthem we were then taught to sing it. The national anthem is sung accompanied by the music played by the recorder every Monday during the weekly assembly held in the school hall. So almost everyone could recite and sing the national anthem nicely We did sing the national anthem during the weekly assembly during our secondary school days as well as those days in the college. Though I had left school for decades of years I still could sing it fluently. posting and cheers.

Hello chennai_b02, I have tried singing my national anthem about 5 minutes ago and I found out that I did not make any mistakes. Maybe I already am used to it since we did it repetitively at school and when I sing it it just sort of automatically comes out. I guess the teachers achieve their objective by forcing us to sing it all over again.

I also used to sing national anthem as a leading singer in my school days and I can surely sing it without any mistake, even today. Its duration is 52 seconds and it has been written by the great nobel prize winner Rabidernath Tagore. I respect our national anthem and if I am in position to stand up, when the national anthem is being played, I do stand up.

I can sing my nations National Anthem. I can still sing the school song that is called the Alma Mater from my high school and I graduated in 1972, as well as the fight song. I even remember the Greek alphabet that I learned in 1973.........someone taught me to learn it to song.

I could sing the National songs of the four Countries of the UK and 'God Save the Queen' Then most of the words of our School Song, I could even sing a lot of the Hymns I learnt as a school girl singing in the school choir. However I'm sure no-one would want to listen - I've a terrible voice and the rythmn would be all over the place - I tend to keep quiet in public but I can't resist singing whilst doing the housework, though even my dog 'complains'............ A good memory for words is the only 'musical' talent I have in a family of good singers and musicians. I hope you continue to sing and enjoy sharing your talent with people like me. Where would we be without Music?

Well, yes singing the national anthem was a part of the daily prayer during my school days. Even now we sing it at required occasions, not everyday anymore. I used to be a house captain during school days. And also being the band commander of my school band i had the reasons for being perfect in singing and playing the anthem and the national song too. Never mind you have written about 'antham', not anthem...Ha. Have a good day.

hahaha. my country is the newest country in the world, kosovo. we have just chosen a new anthem, but, just like spain's anthem, it hasn't got any lyrics!! it's music only. but, the anthem i used to sing before declaring our indepedence, "Hymni i Flamurit" which originally is albania's anthem, i sang it without any mistakes, with the same rhythum.

ahw..when i first read ur subject i remember when i was taking class,i guess it was the first day of school days, then our teacher told us to write down the national anthem which is the "Lupang Hinirang", at first i laugh && said "why so easy.?" then when im at the middle part there were some words missing & i cant get it out of my mind!all of us were silently singing at that time,.we were like a schoolbaby trying to learn that song! For me its better to sing than to write it down!i really had a hard time sometime!lols..

I have to admit that I would not be able to sing it without any mistakes. I am not much of a singer anyway.

Yea. I think so. Haha.. I am not going to try to sing out loud to test myself now but I bet I still remember. I used to sing it almost everyday when I was schooling. The lyrics are embedded in my mind. Singapore's national anthem is in Malay and even though I am not a Malay and do not really understand the Malay language, I can sing the national anthem with no problem. Our national anthem is called 'Majulah Singapura'. It means 'Onward Singapore'.
