When was the last time you managed to walk along the coastline, or near a beach or water body?I love walking at the beach, and feeling the salt breeze in my face. Recently i went with my husband to the beach in the morning to walk and there were joggers, families, cyclists and roller bladers. here's a photo of this particularly nice tree i saw. i think it helps greatly to destress. walking and being surrounded by nature is a great way to focus on things that matter. try it sometime if you get a chance!

It surely is my favorite past time! Before, we lived along the coastline area...my husband and I love to stroll along with our kids and the pets on the beach barefooted. It's just a very nice and relaxing experience. Happy posting!

Hi Squaretile, This is where I count my blessings as I live a few minutes away from a two mile sandy beach and at the end is the begining of the Jurassic caostline in Britain. I walk everyday to destress and take in the beauty of nature. Even if I can only get down for a brisk 10 minute walk I do. Ellie :D

Walking on the beach is one of my favorite things in life. I spent many years in North Carolina and would walk the beach often there. The last time I did was just before I left there last Aug. I'd love to go back ...

I live on the coast so I walk on the beach two or three times every week. I am never far from the sea and I think the air is good for me. There is always a nice fresh breeze, sometimes strong to storm force winds. Seawater often sprays up onto the road and splashes people walking on the promenade. It's fun to watch and to try and dodge the spray. On the beach I always walk as close to the waves as I can get. I love to watch them and to hear the sound of the sea. I like walking by the sea because it makes me feel good and reminds me I am alive and I am part of nature.

I went on holiday with my daughter and my mum recently to Kent (on the South East coast of England) and we went to the beach nearly every day, even though most days it was raining. It's beautiful to walk on the beach whatever the weather. The air is so fresh and feels healthy, and it's so peaceful, especially if there aren't many other people on the beach. I love walking from bay to bay looking at the sea, the cliffs, the rock pools and wildlife. I also think it's lovely to be surrounded by nature and find it greatly relaxing. And depending on my mood I either like to walk by myself and think, or walk with my family and talk and have fun.

I grew up on the coast and walking the beach....just being at the beach was my favorite place in the world..winter or summer. I have so many fond memories of the ocean. I'm not real far from it now but it is at least a 2 hour drive so we don't go as often as we'd like. Still we manage to make it there once or twice a year. The smell of the salt water...oh my...can't wait to be there again.

hi squaretile glad you brought this up. I live about six miles from the pacific ocean and used to take the bus down to the beach many times. however I have not done this now in months and I love to walk along the beach and listen to the tide, and watch the power of the ocean as it surges in and out.It really is a great way to destress and feel the wind and taste the salt on your lips. right now I am housebound with shingles but once I getover that I plan on making a trip to the beach.

The last time I walk along the beach along with my husband was last summer when we had an overnight stay in one of the beautiful beaches in Batangas City. I love the feel of white sand on my toes and they are therapeutic as well, so every time we would do an overnight stay in a beach we would always wake up very early to walk along the shore while watching the beautiful sunrise slowly spreading its rays through the playful waves of the sea. I also love collecting unique shaped stones and corals by the beach! Walking along the beach is indeed very enjoyable!

Of course I like to walk along the beach. When I was a kid I used to be thrilled with the idea of going to a beach.Because it meant getting a chance to build sand castles and getting yourself wet.I get thrilled even now.Last year I had been to Chennai which has the world's longest beach Marina Beach.Well,I didn't walk the entire stretch of it!But I did get to again build sand castles and get my feet wet!And yes the waves in that beach were huge and more powerful than the ones at the beaches in Mumbai where I stay.An added attraction while walking along the beach are the various hawkers who sell eatables and other wares. Also watching the sky meet the sea at the horizon and the ships and small boats bobbing in the water is a nice sight. And the most pleasant sight of all are the Sunrise and the Sunset.

I have walked along many beaches and it does have that effect. The rolling of the waves and the lapping of the water against the beach....all peaceful and serene!
