Work of candles

Am not sure with this, but I wanted some Idea of others. I love to cook something inside in our house but my husband said when I cook fish I need to cook it outside of the house we have things for cooking there. but my friends said its ok to cook inside of the house I will just light on all the candles they said it will help. I tried last time when the house was sososo stink becuase of our renter they make a garden in our yard and put all the stink dead leaves on the plants all the flies are there and some flies went inside the house. I feel so bad becuase flies is everywhere even at this time.sometimes while we are sleeping you can hear the flies flying around.
