Who is your favorite artist? I have two: Picasso and Jenny Saville. Picasso has always been a love of mine. He's just so abstract! So many influential periods during his career. I would love to have met him. He was so talented, both realistic and abstract. My favorite painting is "The Three Musicians." I remember the first time I saw that painting, I just stood there and stared at it. I have no idea why. But something drew me towards it. I even made a b/w copy of it for my 2-D Design class in school. Jenny Saville actually influenced my art as an art major. Her stuff is all about body image, and how we see the body, especially women. Her paintings are soooo life like, its amazing! I love the way she uses cool colors to show shadows. I am trying to work on that technique. My hubby hates her stuff, he says its disgusting. It is very graphic, but also very deep. Love it.
