What do people dream about?

Going through a pretty rough emotional time at the moment. Unsettled to say the least. But don't seem to be dreaming a lot. Took some vegan Valerian capsules last night to get to sleep. It did the trick and I've taken some tonight. (depending on your country of residence, you should consult a registered medical practitioner, before doing this, no liability for this suggestion is assumed).
Well, after that little warning (some people sue for the slightest things these days) will try to get a little lighter!
I will try to set an intention, to dream of happy times ahead, maybe as the price of oil goes up, people everywhere, will become closer together, to support each other, as their material standard of living drops. Scientists will make inventions, to enable us to have sustainable lifestyles. Sustainable in the meaning that we are living on the earth's interest, not depleting it's capital.
Is this the meaning of the magical date of December 21st, 2012? - Mayan end of 'time'.....

I do like the way you think!
When I first began my study of meditation many years ago, my coach and I tried to see if we could "plant" dreams by concentrating on a particular thng before going to sleep. It works very occasionally. Dreams became, to me, just a lovely gift from the universe to allow our sleep some flavor!
Before you put too much trust in the Mayan 2012 concept, do you remember the world-wide panic as Y2K approached? Perhaps we need to have more faith in humanity, in God, and in the ultimate beneficence of the universe.

Does very occasionally mean often or seldom? I think dreaming, sleep is one awesome tool given to us.
I've done quite a lot of study on the subject. Our subconcious can easily alter our dreams, so connecting with subconciousness first will enable anyone to easily dream what they seem fit.
I'm awaiting 2012 with great anticipation. I have to admit I was pretty excited at Y2K aswell.

Thank you. I generally believe that the 'Mayan end of time' will be a positive event. Yes, it will probably be a time of upheaval for many, but ultimately will be of much benefit.

I believe you're on the right track, in that I'm thinking along the same lines. 2012 will be a time of great upheaval for everyone. But it's neccessary to move us all toward a better time. I also believe in the power of individual choice. We create our own realities (either consciously or unconsciously) and we create our own futures. i don't think 2012 is any exception to this. In fact I think the coming changes make it imperative for each individual to make a conscious choice for a positive outcome. How do you see your earth change experience? I think our power over the events which influence our lives is to be found in how we choose to meet the event. (glass half full/half empty etc)
I remain optimistic for us all. It's an exciting time to be alive.

Yes, this is a most fascinating subject. I believe many will be moving up to new 'dimensions'.
