New american legislation prohibiting people from the US to play online poker?

I heard there's a new law in the US that forbids playing poker online, and rumor is that partypoker.com and pacificpoker.com or getting a lot less visitors every day because of that!
What do you think of this and does anyone know what really has happened (regarding the new legislation)?
