i live in houston texas, and there has been a really disturbing story that has been running on the news. a woman reports her two children missing six hours about they disappeared on father's day. she said that the reason she waited was because she had been searching the neighborhood and waiting for her husband to come home because she thought they could've been with him. the police originally question both of them and inspect their cars. after not finding anything initially, they turned their attention elsewhere.
the next day, dozens of volunteers joined the efforts to search for the children- the son(7), the daughter(3). after about a week of searching, the police put their attention back to the father. turns out, he had a history of domestic violence, traffic violations and is on probation. they pick him up on a bench warrant and hold him for questioning. he leads police to a local park and tells them to search two of the ponds located in the park. after searching for two days, nothing surfaced.
a community activist finally gets him to confess to what really happens. he burned his children and buried them some luggage. i find this to be one of the most disgusting things that i've ever heard of! i feel so sad for the family's loss. i, as a mother, can't imagine how difficult it would be to have your children taken from you. but then to find out, not only have they been murdered, but by their own father. in a matter of minutes, you've lost everyone that you love. how do you recover from that.
he has been convicted of capital murder and is waiting arraignment. i personally hope that not only does he get the death sentence, but that it's televised. and not the "polite" lethal injection, but something old school- like death by firing squad. and while all of this is going on, he's sitting in a jail cell enjoying his food, working out, watching cable television and being cooled by tax-payer's air conditioning. his children never even got a chance to live life. and he gets to be comfortable on our dime.

I am wondering why he did this. When people do things like this to their own children, I do not understand it. How can someone burn his own children alive? I don't have children. My husband and I do not have children and will not be able to. I feel cheated and yet, if that is God's will, then I shouldn't. God has a plan for everyone. However, I think about our child, whoever he or she would have been, everyday. And then I think about this man and his two children. Then I think about his wife. This is so horrible.
