What's the best place to sell hand crafted or hand crocheted items online?

I have some hand crocheted blankets that I make and would like to sell them online. I've thought about using Ebay, but people are looking for super cheap stuff and hand crochet takes a long time to do. So I'm not looking to give it away for a few dollars. I was wondering if it were possible to sell that kind of hand crafted item on Etsy or other online store. Where is your favorite place to sell hand crafted items? Please share your suggestions. Thanks.

Hie Beautyqueen, I have this site "productsfromnewzealand.com" that I have joined as a member that deals with unique handmade handicrafts from New Zealand. They are actually wholesaler and retailers online. I find they have a wonderful range of interesting products and did mention that they are also interested to purchase from anyone who would like to sell their products. Perhaps you could write in and ask them. If you like to browse through or join, have a look at my profile page in Mylot. Cheers and best wishes,

I have handkerchiefs which are made by a person who asked me to sell for them they are had drawn in color and have the praying hands with a rose through them and the thorns around the edges, and the words unconditional love written at the bottom the names of a couple can be also added to these. This would make a wonderful wedding or anniversary gift. How do I sell these without putting a fortune into the site where they sell. This person is just trying to make a little money for themselves to survive. They are not tring to get rich or rip anyone off. I have one of these handkerchiefs myself and they are really beautiful. Also the wedding date or birth date ect can be added They are made to order, not premade. thanks Peaches

that's the problem with being a crafter of any kind. there's always people trying to cheap you down..most of them haven't a clue how long something takes. that being said,i've heard glowing comments about etsy.i've been thinking of joining myself.

For stuff like that I'd create an eBay store, or I'd start my own business using http://www.freewebs.com to host, since they are easy to use, and totally free.

Thank you! I will look into it. I'm always doing crochet and would like to turn it into a part time income, if possible. Right now, my crochet just sits in a box in the closet once it's done. I'm not having any more babies yet, but I do love crocheting the baby blankets and booties. Would be nice to know that another mom and her baby could enjoy them! Thanks for your advice. Be well. Have a bright and beautiful day.

try auction.ph the site is so nice and doing bussiness is so great there, they have this system that provides security for the seller as well as the buyer. It is really a very good site to do bussiness..

I think it should be etsy.com because it seems that everyone there is selling handmade stuff and it attracts those customers who want to buy handmade stuff. I went there from time to time and they have some really amazing products. You should check it out.

Thank you! I did check it out and you are right. That is definitely the place to sell hand crafted items. Lots of unusual and unique crochet, too.
