Is it better to use rice cooker than gas stove? Right now my rice cooker have a problem, it need to cook the rice for about 45 minutes to 1 hour, so in the morning I preferred to use gas stove instead and it is very fast, however, I need to make sure that I stay awake so that I can see when it is done already, else, it will in trouble. My wife is complaining since the price of gas is very high and according to her, rice cooker is much cheaper using electricity. I said, O, Mom, you need to buy a new rice cooker then. So which is best for you based on your experience? pertaining to speed, quality, and costs.

I like the rice cooker. I have been using the rice cooker for a long time now. It is so easy to use you dont have to watch it. On the stove you have to watch it all the time so it wont burn on.

Yes, you are absolutely right. You have ti watch it until the rice is cooked not like on a rice cooker, you can leave it for a while and wait till the rice is cooked.

I prefer to use the rice cooker.. it has been a long time since i use the ordinary gas stove to cook rice... and i don't really know how to cook the perfect rice... since it would always end up over cooked... but with the rice cooker... that would never happen to me... so i am glad that the rice cooker was invented...

The rice cooker is so much easier, it does it all by itself. It's worth investing and getting another rice cooker, you even save on the gas.

I'm no longer using my Rice Cooker because it consumes more electricity. I'd rather use the gas stove to cook my rice because it is done the shorter time at lesser cost. I looked at the number of watts consumed by the Rice Cooker and found out it's too high so I tried using gas stove instead and my succeeding electric bills proved me right.

I prefer rice-cooker to cook my rice. After washed and put in the rice cooker, I just switch on electricity, that is ok. I don't have to take care of it, it cooks on its own.

Why not put the cooker on first thing when you wake up and then go about your morning routine until it is done. Then put the rice in the refrigerator for the evening or afternoon meal. That way when you return home your dinner is almost cooked.

hi by using the cooker you are saving on fuel be it gas or electricity coz cooker consumes less fuel since it maintains a pressure greater then our atmospheric pressure.higher pressure inside will lead to higher temperature but will consume lesser heat energy as compared to cooking at atmospheric temperature.the reason why your cooker is taking long time is that it must be leaking due to a leaky gasket,in this case there will be pressure drop inside ur cooker and the efficiency will be reduced and it will take long time to cook.

I used to cooked rice with rice cooker before but because it consumes much electricity, and electricity prices was very high nowadays, I stopped using it. I used gas stove instead. Not only it was much cheaper but also very fast too. So, I really prefer gas stove than rice cooker now.

Do we have other choice? lol. I've using rice cooker before, but when I learned that it consumes much energy, I learned how to cook rice in the stove. But whenever I go on vacation in my hometown in the Philippines, I'd like the taste of rice cooked in charcoal or in wood.

We still prefer using the rice cooker since we can live it after we had put the rice in there and it will cook on its own without waiting for the rice to boil and then have the rice cooked in low fire when using a gas stove. and when we are still cooking in the gas stove we tend to forgot to have the rice cooked after boiling in low fire so it tends to get burned..

I prefer using thr rice cooker. Simply because it automatically stops when the rice isooked. But of course cooking over the fire is also okey, only you have to stay put not to oner cooked ir burned the rice. Due to fast raising of gas, it is really imposible for us to save, same as well as using the electricity. These two ( electricity and gas) comes in pair. They both raise thier prices randomly. But in our ways of life now. It is better for us to use the rice cooker. It is more convenient and applicable.

I cook rice using the rice cooker's pot in my stove. I find this much quicker to cook rise than using the electric rice cooker or the regular rice pot. I'm done with it in half an hour or less. No electric and less gas.
