I think walking makes me healthier and stronger. Its a form of exercise which is good for our body.It makes us relaxed and energize us. Stronger in the sense that it gives us strength to carry on with our day to day life and do our jobs.

I like walking outside, instead of indoors. It gives me a goal to go from point A to point B. I prefer walking in the city, instead of the mall. The mall is depressing. I also like walking in nature, the park, etc.
If I walk on the treadmill, its boring and it doesn't make me motivated.
I also park my car far away from buildings, so it forces me to walk. I do not waste my time looking for parking spaces when I go to grocery stores and to other stores, otherwise, it doesn't force me to walk. I walk to the trash and recycling bin, in my apartment complex, instead of taking my car (like alot of my neighbors do).
Exercise releases endorphins, which make you feel happier and positive.
It also suppresses your appetite. Making you eat less.
In France, where my spouse is from, the majority of the population is slender. You rarely see obese people there.
Most cities and towns there are pedestrian friendly, therefore, it motivates people to walk more, so a car isn't really necessary. Most things are within walking distance and there is public transportation everywhere.
I ate what I wanted and I lost weight because I walked everywhere! My legs and my feet were my vehicle.
Where we live, the US, is known as "suburban nation" because most people here live in our cars. In the suburbs, you really can't walk anywhere because most places here are not pedestrian friendly. So we have to take our cars everywhere. Rarely you see public transportation here, unless you live in the city or close to it. So we spend the majority of our lives driving around and living in tin cans (cars).
That's why I make an effort to walk as much as possible.
The US needs more quaint cities/towns where it's pedestrian friendly, so we don't have to rely on cars much and it wouldn't be as detrimental to the ozone layer.

Hi rainbow2007star,
Walking makes me totally relaxed. I walk about 2 hour a day. One hour up and one hour down.
Good Luck.

honestly, walking makes me feel tired. I know that walking is the best form of exercise but everytime I walk for more than 50 steps straight, it makes me feel restless. Maybe one of the reason is that I am asthmatic when I was little. I know lot of friends who loves walking. They say its good for the body, good for the health. Even if I really want to walk, I can't help feeling restless and tired.
