If my topic gathers 8 to 10 responses, I close the discussion topic by giving the best response (among the 10). That does not mean the topic is closed. It continues to fetch responses and there are chances the best comes after some 30 or 40 responses. But then I do not have patience to wait for it.

Say that you only get 3 responses and you dont actually care for any of them? Would you give a BR anyway?

I generally prefer to mark best response.But sometime all the responses are so good it creates confusion to whom give the best response mark.

Ive had that problem also, but my big confusion comes in when there are only a couple responses and they either arent answering, or they arent relevant, to the question. Thank you :-)

I try to always give a best response. Once in awhile I find there are none I would qualify as best response because of several reasons such as all responses are very short, for instance. Sometimes there are many GOOD responses and it's hard to judge which should get the BR as well!
I try to reward the BR to who actually deserves it, whether I am "friends" with them or not.
