I live in Belgium.. A nation which is lead by a King, one person chosen by hereditary succesion. Although he is considered to be our leader, our head of the state, he's got few power.. His powers are very restricted and for every action he takes he needs the autograph of the competent minister. That's why he's also irresponsible for his acts: the ministers will take full responsibility.
These reasons might give you the opinion that it would be better to choose for Presidency.. But would it? I mean look at America, I really don't want someone as George W. Bush to take the lead of our nation. I would be to scared for abuse of power..
So what do you think? Do you prefer presidency or a king? And for what reason?

A lot of countries were under monarchies if you were to see the history say in the last century or earlier. With the various changes over time a lot of these countries have changed over to democracies. One change that we have all read about is the French Revolution. The most recent one that I can see is the one in Nepal.
The idea of a democracy is too bring the power to the people which is good. When this suffers is when the people elected misuse these powers and get corrupt. Then the whole system starts to decay.
I think a democracy is suitable for a large country and a monarchy for a smaller country.
I know Bush is not the ideal President , but the I am not sure if having a King for the US for a prolonged period of time would be a good idea.
