Hi rashmi. Natively, I belong to U.P. but i did my graduation from Noida which is hardly 10kms from Delhi. so i am a pretty close neighbour to you. So i don't think there would hardly be any difference btw the religions.
But now i work in Hyderabad (A.P) and i tell you i can figure out a lot of difference between the cultures followed over here. Language is the first and foremost difference. And then fooding. And festivals.
The only thing you should consider before comign here to the south is about ur food and be prepared to hear the people talking in Telugu all the day..
So that next day even Himesh's ongs would be a melody to ur ears.

Hi rashmi even i am from INDIA (ANDHRA PRADESH)Well if your real purpose is to know about knowing the festivals in diferent parts of India then this is not the corect place.
The festivals are almost same as in north india but we celebrate Sankranthi as a major one as it is the festival after getting the crops for farmers.
