When was the last time you got slapped in the face? And why? The last time was by my father many years ago. I was still in high school, if I'm not mistaken. It happened during dinner. He was in a bad mood already and I said something very rude and sarcastic (what it was I don't remember now). I wasn't prepared for what happened next. Before I knew it, his hand had left a stinging sensation on my cheek. I could not believe at the time that he would do so, considering that he has never really spanked me or any of my sisters. He must've been in a really bad mood. That was the only time though I had ever experienced it.

So sad to hear that. I have never been slapped by my parents nor any of my loved ones. However, I was slapped by someone I don't even know or even close to. I was recruited to be part of a sorority and part of the initiation was to be slapped by all of the members present. Suffice to say, those slapped awakened me to the truth - that true and lasting friendship cannot be measured by the cudgels and pain you are willing to accept for the sake of sisterhood.

My father did apologize to me after that. I'm sure he didn't mean to do it. I don't know what's worst, being slapped by someone from your family or being slapped by a stranger.

Wow, he may have been totally stressed from the day, and your remark just pushed his last nerve.
The first and only time I was slapped in the face, is by my first husband.
We were having a discussion, about his mother, and he asked me a question, and I honestly answered it, (that his mother was a phoony), and I was actually sitting on his lap, and before I knew it, there were 5 finger marks on my face. Needless to say, we are no longer married, not because of that though.
Never happened again.

I just hope no guy would ever do something like that to me again. Gawd. I could forgive my father for doing it but someone else? No, I don't think so.
