Do you have a favorite city?

This was one of the confirmation questions they will asked if you forgot you password on some sites. I was surprised at first because I don't remember answering such questions. I thought I am going to flunked this questions, I made some educated guess and fortunately I guess it right and I was able to change my password. My question is not about those questions they ask you when you lost your password but it is about your favorite city. Do you have one city or cities? I am not revealing the one I have in my password questiosn, but I was lucky enough to visit the French Riviera during summer time and it's a lovely place. I like Monaco and Cannes, very beautiful cities. It's a bit expensive if you live there but it's a very relaxing place to be and has a very good weather. So if you have a favorite city to be, what's usually attract you most to it? Is it the scenery, the people, the shopping mall, the attractions, the work, peace and order, or other criteria? Please do share. Appreciate it.

Hello angel1001, I never been to Beijing, China. I would like ot visit it someday. I know China has lots of beautiful places and Beijing the capital should be the best. You always here Beijing in the news today because to the coming Olympic games which is going to be held there. It will surely showcase China's best. I think the forbidden city is in Beijing, I sure like to go and see it. I am sure I am going to like Beijing too.

hello angel1001, great to know you enjoy beijing. we live in beijing for almost 4 years and it was horrible, yeah the few months is full of fun coz you see different places, enjoy new culture and learn to speak the language. but over time it fades and just leave a sour taste in our mouth. anyway, i guess that is why i feel some places are just good for a short period of time or else you will see a lot of stuff that is distasteful and the first impression will never be the same afterwards. i always wish that there are not much foreigners there as well as locals who is having a bad experience other than what we had. oh well. great for you! takecare

hello robert, haha, that is very interesting i have never encountered a site that asked me what is my favorite city is as my password hint - strange! anyway to answer your question... i would love to visit copenhagen (denmark) someday. i love that country and i have always dream to be there once in my lifetime. i dont care much about other country but for some reason i am very interested about denmark. if you asked the cities i have been, i would pick singapore and chicago. i lived in singapore for 6 months and i just love that place. i enjoy the life style, transportation, the easiness of life, the sceneries, the well mannered people and so many more. i enjoy going to different places there and i dont remember anything bad about it even though it is just 6 months unlike other countries i have been and i can see/noticed something that i dont like in just a matter of days. i love chicago coz i love jazz and blues and they do have lots of bars there that you can enjoy this kind of music. i love the area though it is very humid but still worth the visit. i am looking forward for our trip there again hopefully by august (a week vacation) and be able to explore some other areas that we didnt get to see while we are there. anyway, i am not a city person as i prefer a country kind of living BUT being there for awhile is enjoyable in my part except of course if i have to live there for a long time. i think i can live in singapore with no worries but not in chicago coz i dont like the extreme weather there. hope that helps give you ideas on what i like haha! good night!

That's a very interesting remarks and observation. I never been to Singapore or Chicago. Even though Singapore is only 3 hours by plane from where I am now we never plan to go there yet. I think because I have several friends and officemate that are working and even have permanent residency there. As you say it is a well kept city. I hope you can visit Denmark someday.

Hello alamzaib, Do you need to speak Japanese to go around the city or you can manage with just English? With people so friendly, it is a great place to be.

My favourite cities are Barcelona and Budapest. In Barcelona there were just so many things to see and it was a really buzzing atmosphere. Then Budapest was a lovely surprise as we just didn't know what to expect. It's full of interesting history beautiful places and delicious cake shops! There are lots of places in the world that I've yet to see (I'd love to visit the Far East, Africa, India, Canada and New Zealand for example), so maybe in a few years time I'll have some new favourite cities!

We were planning to go to Barcelona too when we were in Europe, unfortunately we run out of time. We went instead to Milan, Italy. It also a good place. I too would like to visit more cities if possible but with my limited income it is not possible so we just as well enjoy the thing we have available now, it is as good as the other places.

Never mind, I'm glad you got to Milan, I've never been there but I've heard it's a lovely place to go. Yes, I'm just kind of dreaming with all the cities I'd like to visit. At the moment I'm not in a position to go to all these places. I'm glad that you're happy with where you are at the moment. You have the right attitude. We should be grateful for what we've got.

Milan is a mix of old and new. We just stayed on the center of the city where the Duomo and the Galeria is located. We stayed for a few hours and then back to France. It's a good experience and I hope next time I go, I'll have my family with me. I just realized that I can't have everything, so I make sure to be content with what I have.

I have many cities that I love! My first choice would probably be Bangkok becuase it has so much going on and is so much fun - especially taking a ride in a tuk tuk!! I also love London becuase it is just so 'British'! I like Dublin for the atmosphere in the bars and how the Irish know how to have a good time!

Hello frankiecesca, Bangkok is a lovely city. I hope I could visit it too. We have a tricycle here also, but not as good as the tuk tuk, but our jeepney will rival the tuk tuk I think. I never been to London or Dublin. I have a brother there though. I hope he invites me someday to see London and the big Ben. Have a great day!

That would be good if you got to visit London! In fact if you did you could also get a cheap flight over to Dublin for the day as takes less than 1 hour to fly from there so you could experience both!! : )

I don't know how to describe Cebu City. I am not from that city and I don't live there. The city where I reside is a city away from it. I am not even a Cebuano to say that I love it that much. But to give you what Cebu City has, read on... They have the Cebu International Port, all vessels, big and small, inter-island or international destinations. And one of the places that most tourists or new in the city should visit is what they call, "top" or "tops". It is the peak of the city's mountain that you can see the whole city and nearby places. And I guess, this is the cleanest city here, for what i knew...

Hello neildc, I hope I could say the same too about Cebu. I know it is good and beautiful city because a lot of tourist go there before Palawan or Boracay. It's a hilly city too, so I guess you can enjoy the view on to of the hills then. Just like French Riviera.

My favorite city used to be Mazatlan, Mexico, but it is OK for me to say that here because I would never put that down as a password hint. Where I live is not a city so I cannot say that one, but my favoite city would have to be somewhat cosmopolitan because I would not be comfortable in an insular society. It would have to have water, from a nice lake or river or be on the ocean. It would have to have warm weather and seasonal thunderstorms and it would have to have sunshine at least 95% of the time. It would have to be casual, as I do not like to get all dressed up. It would have to have the infrastructure for high technology, so that cell phone data plans would work and the internet and for hubby, his cable TV. And shopping, lol, it would have to have Wal-Marts and Targets and lots of Dollar Stores nearby for thrifty shopping, as well as places like Trader Joe's and Whole Foods for healthy organic stuff. What a fun discussion!

Hello dranhh, It seems there are lot of suburbs like that now in the US so you won't have a hard time looking for one. The weather might be a different story, it's hard to find a city with and ideal weather conditions.

Mysore is beautiful. It says below that. Mysore is a tourism hot spot within the state of Karnataka and also acts as a base for other tourist places in the vicinity of the city. The city receives the maximum number of tourists during the period of the Dasara festival when festivities take place for a period of 10 days. One of the most visited monuments in India, the Ambavilas Palace (also known as Mysore Palace) is the center of the Dasara festivities. It is a good place to visit once of these days.
