I prefer light-hearted topics than heavy topics !
Mylot is a place where we exchange ideas and making friends.
I notice that most of the discussions are light-hearted topics.
I posted some hesvy topics before ,but responses are few.
What do you think ? Heavy or light-hearted topic is suitable here ?

I don't mind if it is heavy or light-hearted, as long as it is interesting, as long as I can help someone, as long as my thoughts would be useful then I'll definitely respond to them. Both are suitable since some people even use myLot as an outlet for their problems. We can help each other out that way.

I think that lighthearted topics are the best for mylot. It ensures that no hurt feelings will develop or be shared, and also allows mylot to be a place to get a way from all of those things that cause us hurt. It is much easier to read a lighthearted discussion then it is for us to ready a heavy discussion or even a debate. Have a Great day.

Hi friend, i always prefer my friends discussion, either light or heavy. But i can't bear long thesis for discussion details. Some may try to tell a to z stories. At last they ask a simple question. Also some there discussion truly localized topic.Thank

Light-hearted topics are probably the ones that I most often frequent.
If I wanted to deal with heavy subject matters or answer serious life questions I'd sit and ponder my own issues. :P
I would much rather chat in a lively fashion about things that don't really matter that much to me/are light in nature than deal with heavy topics.
That's just me, though.

Most of the time, I deal with light-hearted topics in mylot. I just to maintain my composure and peace of mind while I'm here. Although I sometimes deal with heavy topics and stir my mind a bit, I still prefer the lighter ones to enjoy my life here.

Hello curious888,
I prefer light discussions. I don't have too much time to spend here and whenever I read a heavy topic for a discussion, I get a bit tensed thinking of what I should write. It doesn't bother me too much on the number of responses. Even if it is just a response, I will still feel glad.

I think I still prefer light topics but those that I can relate with. Well, sometimes there are certain heavy topics I could respond to, and sometimes I would still respond to them, but there are really some topics I cannot bear and I would just skip those from reading or responding.
Light topics are still my favorite, but of course, people tend to respond to topics that can make them talk more. There are certain light topics where people can read but they would just get stuck in reading, because they don’t know what more to add. So, even if those are light topics, the starters of the discussions still need to put some triggers that would make people add more words. And that would be a favorite topic to respond. :)

Hi Curious.
I prefer light-hearted topics because I have better luck with coming up with a decent response for those. I do try to stay away from discussions that 'requires' a one-word answer though.
I have a harder time answering the heavier discussions because I'm afraid that I may not get my message across very well to other people . So, many times I will just read those discussions. There have been some really good ones in the last few months, too.

It depends upon the topic itself.. even if its heavy or light as long as I can share something that is related to the discussion. So if I can share useful comments with the topic on my friends and any other mylot users I'l response to it eagerly.

With me it can go either way at anytime.
What doesn't appeal to me right now, may jump out at me in the morning.
I always say I'm going to stay out of those religious posts, but I'll wiggle my way right in there and put in my two cents everytime.
I don't know why I do it, but I do.

Both are appropriate, but I, as well as many others here would probably agree to the fact that most of the time we all prefer light-hearted topics ^_^. Well, theres a time and place for everything, and besides, if someone doesn't like heavier discussions, then they don't have to respond. I like both, depending on my mood.

I like them both but I do think it's sad that there are topics out there where people put a lot of effort into and try to make a real debate/discussion and there are so little people interested. Asking people if they want an apple or a pear is no discussion in my opinion (I posted a topic on this).
This doesn't mean that there aren't any real discussions on light topics out there and I do think those are fine. I try to keep a balance between light and heavy subject as I like both, but to much of heavy subjects can make a man sad or depressed. We should also see the light and fun side of live and discuss that as well :)

Both have their place. Yes, this is a place to exchange ideas and make friends. Sometimes the exchange of ideas leads to deeper discussions even if a topic began as a light-hearted one. It's important to share ideas both ways.

I agree, I think most of the users prefer light-hearted topics. I guess, people already have a lot happening in their lives already that they just want to unwind by posting topics and responding to posted ones.
I prefer light-hearted ones but with substance.
