I wonder what type of discussion or topic would draw your attention and catch your interest to respond to that discussion. I have been posting for about 3 weeks now but it seems my discussions are not interesting enough to catch responses. I noticed a lot of discussions having more than 30 responses so I try to analyze what would it be but I couldn't figure out.
So I would like to ask you fellow mylot members for your suggestions. I would really appreciate your opinions.

Fortknox75,
I wish I had a suggestion about how to get increased responses to your discussions. Mine, too, here at myLot seem to be, for the most part, less than stellar.
I even tried to start a discussion from a couple of interesting news items. At least, I thought they were interesting, and got 0 responses!
I sort of think that, once people have many posts here--a high number beside their names--people will respond to their discussions more. If I get 4 responses to my discussions, I am pleased, no kidding.
Just hang in there, and keep starting discussions about your personal interests and observations. Eventually, a few of them have got to hit!
Hopefully, the myLotters out there who have had really high responses to their discussions will reveal to us how they do it by responding to this discussion.

Hi PearlGrace, I have just responded to Fortnox and noticed your reply and as I have a reasonable amount of postings have shared a bit in my response below. I hope it can be of some help but by building discussions by replying to the responses you receive I have found really helps. I was like you when I first started here five months ago and was excited if I got four responses but now my average is about 25/30 per posting which is fantastic. I have a few recent ones with only 1 or two responses though so I suppose sometimes it is just whether or not the discussion gets seen and is one people can relate too easily. Keep posting, keep responding and it will all come together, but most of all have FUN with it, thats what I do. Ellie :D

Hi pearlgrace, I hope too that we get suggestions from the experienced myLotters and share their secrets of drawing attention to their discussions.
I guess we just keep on trying anyway, and as long as we are having fun that will be okay for now. Maybe, my interests right now just do not match the interest of most mylotters.
Thanks for always sharing your thoughts. I really appreciate it. Happy mylotting too!

I like light-hearted topics than heavy topics.
Discussions on daily life is easier to attract attentions, and easier to make responses.
Happy mylotting.

i found so. i once post some topics like "what annoys u most?" "r u a fat person?" and others like that, few people responded to that kind of question. people like to post sth good, but not like to show their own drawbacks or shortcomings. lol i just guess so.

I think my friend is new to mylot, and it takes time to for a newbies discussion to get noted. Initially it takes time to get yourself noted amongst the friends here.
I strongly suggest you to make,a good friends base, just keep on responding to the senior members discussions here, the best way in this regard is select a few good persons here..say initially a twenty or so, initially, drop in their discussions leave your comment there, whether they turn up to your topic or not.. and meanwhile create new and simple discussions, send friends request of your choice..make friends circle widened.
Also, once in a while please do send casual PM's to your friends enquiring about them, Make sure that you don't send any links for your programs..because sending links in pm, may cause your beautiful blossoming friend ship broken.
Similarly have a habit of once in while dropping comments in the friends profile, you could add comments from Myspace, or glitter graphics.,.and many similar sites available for this.

Thank you very much saivenkaat for your suggestions as well as the things that I shouldn't do in PMs. I will try to do your suggestions and hope to build a good base of friends here.

Hi Fortnox, I have been here five months now and the first few weeks I was lucky to get 4 responses but I soon built up friendships by responding back to each response and requested people as friends who I thought I would really get on with, in fact I have met two in reall life now also which was fantastic. I do find by having a lot of friends does help with the responses but I also got a discussion listed in the daily digest and therefore more people got to see it and respond to it 76 responses, wow. I usually type discussions that anyone can answer really but not simple is what colour do you like, in fact the title of my best one was 'do other peoples children annoy you when you are eating out in a restaurant' Good luck, keep posting keep responding and I am sure the responses will soon go up. hello ellie, thank you very much for your suggestion. I guess building friendship counts so your friends would support you in your discussions. That's a wow for you to have 76 responses. I guess, hitting the interests of mylotters that makes them comfortable to share the discussion also helps.
Have a great day and I look forward to join in your discussions too!

it's not only the topic, it also depends on some amount of luck. there are also many with a lot of friends, wich can help too.
i noticed that the light hearted discussions get the most responses, but there the most boring to read (i find personnaly)

Hi kameleem, thanks for the suggestion. I guess I have been posting 'serious' discussions that's why I have no luck to draw attention to my discussions. And yes, I guess some of my topics seem boring to others...
Have a great day!
