Freud or Jung

If you only had two Psychology professors to pick, which would you pick to be with for the whole semester: Sigmund Freud or Carl Jung? It's quite hard to pick. The introvert and paranormal buff in me would pick Jung because I like his take on Synchronicity (coincidences) and parapsychology. However, I am quite sure I am going to be very enlightened if I sit in Freud's classes too because he had radical views about psychology. I think in the end I would pick to be in Freud's classes because I know I would be up for a challenge. I am quite brave to say that but at this moment, I'll lock my choice in on Freud. How about you? Who would you pick and why?

OMG... what a dilemma!!! Freud for all his studies on the unconscious and then Jung for parapsychology... I'm using most of Jung's ideas for now but when critical times come around, Freud helps a lot... Ummm...then Freud it is...

Freud had a background in neurology, if I can remember correctly. Sometimes I just have this bias: the student cannot be greater than the master. Freud was just phenomenal.

Plus, he's a Taurus too. His birthday was 6 days before ours.

Wow thats is quite the dilemma. From what i know from either of them i would prbably have to pick Freued. I would pick him only becuase I find his theories mch better supported than Jung's

While Freud would hold my attention, I would much rather spend some time with Jung. Freud did have many radical views but I wonder if he himself was the first Freudian case and his own personal feeling were the true basis of his therories rather than true psychological studies.

I think so. I've read about it somewhere but I'm just not sure what it was anymore. Some childhood experience of his. Tsk I can't recall it now. But it's a good thing to start questioning/investigating from within.

I wouldn't pick either Freud or Jung. I'd pick Dr. James Dobson, because I think he has a firmer grasp on the realities of human behavior and relationships than the early pioneers of phychology.

I think Freud was sexually fixated. He grew up in the Victorian era so he was obscessed with sexuality. Jung was alittle more enlightend and observant of HUman behavior. Classic Freudanism is all but out the window in current psychology.

Hehe. Thanks. =) I actually am quite intrigued with their relationship. The first time they met, it was like they would never part and they talked for hours and hours just debating here and discussing there. It was perhaps one of the greatest meeting of minds in history. Their parting was as intense as their first meeting. That's why I put it as making a choice between Freud and Jung. =)
