I must say I prefer dogs. In my opinion, dogs are just more usefull then cats: They're loyal, they are better listeners, you can train them, they can be used as guards,.. and so on.
I'm not saying that I don't like cats, because I really love all animals, but I think cats are rather lazy animals -no offence to the cat lovers though. Except when you have mice of course, lol.
So for this reasons I'd rather would have a dog than a cat. Greetz.

I've always preferred cats - I grew up with one.
Mainly because they are small, quiet, soft, cuddly and easy to care for.
But I do like dogs too. Prefer larger over smaller because smaller tend to be hyper.
So....I have both.
We have 1 outdoor cat, 1 indoor cat and 1 large dog (labrador retriever).

i like them both. they are both similar, like children. but cats are easier, and dogs need more space, a nice big backyard to play in.

I, too, prefer cats. I just spent a weekend with my friend who has a dog. The dog needs to be walked even in 93 degree heat. We have to play Frisbee with her. She takes pills that need to be wrapped in chopped meat. And she barks at nothing. Or at something that I can't see. She smells like a dog and jumps on you and licks you.
My four cats curl up in my lap and purr. They watch birds from the window and chitter at them. Peaches carries around a little toy and talks to it. They are soft and they purr.
