Don't animals deserve to be treated well?

This is a sore subject for me so i deffinately had to write about it.
I am an animal lover...my favorites are cats and dogs but the things i see just horrify me. I have seen animals beaten with straps and belts and whatever else the owner has and it just tears at me..My point is this if you can't care for or understand ur pets then why have them? I have a 10 yr old Rottweiler and she is the best .she is loyal and obedient and sweet. I can honestly say i have never treated her wrong.. and as far as protection. I think a animal that is treated bad is more likely to turn on someone. If u have any opinion or if u share mine about this i would love to hear it.

I prefer animals to people so I agree with you %100 that animals should be treated well. Dogs and cats are members of our families and should be treated as such. Nothing makes me angrier that hearing of people abusing and neglecting their pets. It breaks my heart when I see dogs chained up in yards for days and days. I wish people wouldn't get a pet if they aren't ready to care for them in the right way.

I agree . . . it is very hurtful seeing people threatening them. I don't get why they buy those pets for?! Pets should be treated nicely because whenever you are stressful , and when you see them , it will relieve your stress a bit. They should be taken good care of. Don't u agree? Do people buy them for threatening them? No! They should be thankful that they have one! Some people want a pet but their parents just don't allow them!

I have always loved animals. I am vegetarian and do not believe in cruelty to anything -- whether it be a child/another human being, or an animal. They can feel pain and fright just as humans do, and hurting them is unacceptable.
Many people say the breed of a dog will determine it's personality. I believe this to be true ONLY TO AN EXTENT. I have a pit bull and everyone always gasps when I tell them, but he's such a good dog. If you MAKE a dog cruel and encourage bad behavior, this will reflect, and vice versa. If you encourage discipline and respect from the dog, they will usually follow this example. I've had labradors, beagles, dalmatians, muts/mixed breeds, pit bulls, and more... ANd I have been bitten by dogs before as well. A German Shepherd bit me in my face without provocation... I don't blame the dog. Most people would, but they don't know any better. They go primarily on instinct.
I definitely do NOT believe anyone should have pets just to treat them badly OR to breed them. Everyone should be a loving and responsible pet owner without exception.

I agree with you one hundred percent,I am also an animal lover,and I can not stand to see animals beaten by careless,cruel owners,and anyone who is not going to take care of a pet should not and does not deserve to have one,we have two chihuahuas and two cats,and they are treated like royalty,and they always get pampered, and that is the way it should be.
