I love my family, but some of them can drive me crazy at times. My mother is having medical problems, amoung a few other things, and at age 67 she thinks she is going to go back to work. She has RA, and there is no way she can work. I told her I would move out with her and pay the bills, but all she wants to do is argue about it. How do you all handle your aging parent. How can I convence her that the best solution to her problem, which is no problem to me, is for me to move in with her and take care of her. Help.

Did she tell you what she was planning on doing for a job? If you can't fight her, join her. She may surprize you. My ex-mother-in-law is 75 and she works 60 hours a week caring for a 90-year-old woman. At least let your mom give it a shot, if she can't do it, then no one is out anything. She may be able to do nothing more than be a greeter at Wal-Mart, but at least she'll know she's doing something. What ever you do let her know that your door is open and she is welcome if it doesn't work out the way she wants it too.
