do you choose not to pirate music because it's illegal?

i think most people know how to pirate music using some sort of p2p program or torrent site, but i was wondering, do you choose not to do this because you don't want to break the law? sometimes on tv i see them compare pirating music to stealing a car, handbag, etc. but i dont really feel like it's a fair comparison. honestly though, i think a lot more people get caught for doing those things rather than pirating music lol. although pirating music is stealing in the long run. Has this ever made you choose not to download music anymore or not to start in the first place?

No it is because I don't have the application to open up the program.

I don't do it simply because I am involved in helping a few independent artist and I see what they have to put into thier music, and how they have to live for the love of their music...Even though I help them for no payment I still make sure I pay them for their music even though they say I don't have to but I prefer to see them get something.
