I have two very close friends, but both of them are abroad and far away from me. I'm going to university this fall and I'm not sure about my future friends. Of course I will appreciate true friendship but it take so much to know a person that I fear too many friends will be of no value...

that phrase is more than true! i had a very close friend, but now we don't speak with each other. And the reason why i don't talk to him is that a friend of mine interrupted our friendship. so this means that more than 1 friend is too much!

but of course you can meet some of your new friends but be careful on choosing a true friend..you must observe their attitudes and if you think if it's he/she is nice and kind i think they are true friend..that's all!!
