What Did You Think Of The Spiderwick Chronicles?

I just recently watched the fantasy movie The Spiderwick Chronicles. I can see how it would be scary for a kid, but it was those scary elements that kept me actually interested as an adult male. My full review is linked below, what did you think of the movie?

It was okay, I couldn't get over the kids all fighting and hating their mother. I got lost on that part, plus it reminded me of all the Hollywood movies that came out with the whole "secret adventure" theme. Maybe I thought it would be better, it just wasn't for me. My kids liked it, my 5 year old got scared when the troll came through the window, my 8 year old liked it best.
