I rarely stay in hotels but I can't stand seeing an unmade bed so I have to make it. I hope they still change the sheets before the next guest though.

Hi there p1kef1sh, I will arrange them but not the perfect arrangement, just make it sure that it's in order, the towels and some of the stuff inside...What I love about it, is the change of the venue and surroundings! LOL!

Oh my goodness, p1key, I would leave everything! After all, isn't that part of the whole thing, staying in a hotel? The way I look at it, it is. But then, I don't even make my own bed, so maybe I'm just a slob...... A sweet slob, but still a slob.

I leave it! I'm not paying $50+ a night to make my own bed in the morning! Heck, I don't even make my own bed in my own house most of the time! Straightening my own home-sheets is good enough for me, but I'm not paying to sleep somewhere else and still make the bed! They hire the maids for a reason...

There is nothing better than a fresh clean made bed. I always have to make my bed each ancd everyday , and it is not the same . When you are at a hotel it is made so nice and everything is nice and tucked .
Also , at the last placed I stayed at they had a huge king bed and it felt like sleeping on clouds .
Boy oh boy was I in heaven

It all depends on if I have time and I am not being rushed. If I have time I will straighten the covers the best that I can even though I know it is not really necessary for me to do so. if I am staying a few days or another night then I won't straighten it up. One thing I hate about hotels though is sleeping on sheets that may have been slept on by someone else and not washed. I wonder how ofton they are washed?

That is a blessing to hear. We once had o stay in a hotel it was like after 11 at night and it had roaches that were huge. I couldn't sleep a wink because I as afraid they would crawl on me after I went to sleep I was so tire thankfully I wasn't driving the next morning.

LOL I make the bed when I'm staying at a hotel..AND when I'm checking out I strip the beds and collect the towels too and just leave them in a pile off to the side...I use to be a chambermaid and I always appreciated when the 'stayer' did that (which of course was rare LOL)..

I always feel sorry for the staff. I figure I will leave it how I would like to find it. I make the bed and tidy things and the maid does the rest.

I make the bed if I'm going out for the day and returning. When leave I strip the sheets off the bed and leave the blankets neatly on a chair. The staff are given a certain amount of time to clean and tidy the rooms so they are not being done out of work or pay.

Why would I make a hotel bed when I seldom make mine at home. LOL
Of course, I leave it. After all, Iam a Princess...

I would love that. It would save me a chore that I hate and I could have coffee or tea with my friend. Everyone wins...Ok mainly me but I'm selfish. LOL

I'm rather anal about clean sheets. So I strip it down to the mattress pad and put the sheets in a pillow case. That way I can be sure they change the bed for the next occupant. I just hope the person who rented the room before I did the same thing for me! LOL

Fresh laundry has a fresh laundry smell the world over. Too many times during the years I did a lot of travelling, I didn't smell that smell. So I got in the habit of wearing pj's (yech!) when I travelled and stripping the beds every morning to get the point across.

I remember staying in an hotel in Amsterdam once where the receptionist was surprised that I wanted the room for the night and not an hour! The sheet had a split a foot in length. I've often wondered if the previous occupant had been a tad vigorous in his/her endeavours!!

Well i never|!!thats typical!!lol..I make it,plus tidy up,and make sure the room is fine!!lol I probably do more than if it were my bedroomn at home!..so if you dont make the bed..do you leave a tip for the poor chambermaid who has to come in behind you??..you know Piky I had you down as a maker of hotel beds, who whipped his tape measure out of his pocket to check if the duvet overlapping the bed measured the same both sides!!!..How wrong you can be!!

I am rather more inclined to make a bed elsewhere than at home. I don't know why. Maybe it's because I don't have to. It's not expected of me so I don't mind. I don't like to leave a mess anywhere that's not mine really.

I wouldn't know if they make the bed afterwards as I have never stayed in a hotel or anything for more than one night at a time. I would think they would strip and change the bed anyway so I probably make it more difficult for them by making it. I'll have to remember that for next time. ~Note to self~Do not make hotel bed~

Once a monthYikes no teling what is in them cover/comforters then. I think from now on when I have to travel I will be taking my own sheets,a little dirt devil duster(to vaccum off bed) and my very own comforter/blankets.

Dear friend,
Mostly I do leave to the maids and moreover we are paying for that. More over I would ask the maids or the room boy to clean up the bed or change it if there any discomfort for me. Usually I leave to room boy or maid.

I don't actually make it properly, but I do pull up the cover neatly. I know it's silly, but I just like to leave the place looking tidy. I also fold the wet towels and leave them neatly on the vanity unit in the bathroom - and check the toilet to make sure my husband hasn't left an indiscretion!
