During a year or two i was been inactive in myLot because i was been in Middle East wherein i have limited access on internet and we were pressured in work. We worked 6-days a week and more than 12hours a day (fixed rate)... with starting time from 5:30AM up to 6:30PM plus. We woke-up in the morning around 4:10AM because we need to get-in to our company bus at around 4:50AM. Our travel time from camp (accomodation) to our project site (office) is approximately 30minutes. With these routinary scenario, i have managed for more than 2-years. Can you manage working more than 12 hours a day? and/or 6-days a week? Could you accept / manage these working duration without sacrificing quality with your family in favor of companies profit gains?

If I live near the workplace and it will only require me to travel a few minutes from rest, I think this is workable. Also, the level of diffulty of the job. I am not a picky worker, but I believe in one's effort's worth. We need to live a balanced life and we need to be equally compensated with the task that we are doing.

Depends on the pay package and the stuff you work at . I wouldn't mind working for 18 hours a day if the job is to coach a football team lol :)) 12 hours is kinda normal i think . I have a lot of friends in software circle who work 10 hours at office and then come home refresh emself and then work again for some 4 to 5 hours a stretch . Not that it is easy by any means . There are stuff which could entice people . I hope you enjoyed your work that much to do it mechanically for 2 years :)

Hello dear odavonline. It is really difficult for me to work that many hours as you used to. I would have escaped from working under such circumstances because I don't think that I can suffer from the duration of so many hours of working a day. Take care, dear friend, and welcome back to mylot again.

i think it all depends on the amount of money you need in all honesty. if you need to work 12 hours a day to support your familly then it obviously needs to be done and i would do this if it meant my familly being well looked after, i am a single mother tho and i work 16 hours a week as well as caring for my children. we are very fortunate here in the uk that the government top up out earnings to a national average if we do not work enough hours or earn enough. this i think is a great thing in one way but not in another as there are people out there who outright refuse to work because they know the goverment will pay tehre rent council tax and give them money to live without doing a thing for it.

Actually, you are right. But in our case it was not money that matters before because we are fixed rate. However, eventhough money would be considered i would still love to work within a normal working hours so that i have enough time for my family & to you guys & gals here at myLot. Like before, i was been too occupied. Thanks for your comment. Happy working there in UK. I have so many friends there working in Engineering & Construction Industry.

Currently, i am working in an 8-hours a day and 5-days a week with all the benifits such as free accomodation, free utility bills, & lots. I believe, those days were just part of life feel the essense of working with pressure. Keep-up & congrats with your current job. God Bless. Thanks!

I think it would have been really impossible in my case to keep up with more than 12 hours a day work for 2 hours. they are doing their own profit and we have to work like that. also I can say like in my current company i travel a lot and work 9 hours. its more than 13 hours I am outside

I have worked 12 hours most of the time. From 8am - 9pm. But that is not really all work. I do mylot every now and then so I can't really say that I worked 12 hours, except if you would consider mylot as work. I think if one would work 12 hours a day, 6 days a week, the quality time with the family would be sacrificed. Working these several number of hours mean spending the time more in the office than in the home. If I would have to have a work like this and there is no other option, I think I should have an understanding wife and kids. I have a lot of energy because I should spend the rest of my time with my family and this needs a lot of energy especially when I came from long hours of work. I should be able to play with my kids and be sweet with my wife even if I am tire. I think it would really be hard as I do not have that amount of energy in me.
