I have a big problem that I usually get senti and start weeping while watching a senti movie. Though I try to hide it from others but I feel others near me are able to notice it. Does it happen with you also. How do you control it.

I will cry at sentimental movies if it's close to something I've experienced or would really be affraid of happening to myself. When I saw the two elderly people lay down on the bed in titanic because they knew they couldn't save themselves I whelled up; I can't swim myself because my motorskills never developed like they should and I can't get my arms and legs coördinated in the water. So yes, I cried because it made me realise it could've been me or someone I love too.

That sounds fair, but I would try and keep my answers diverse because now it's just a lot of cutting and pasting. Or you can put it in your next topic up front as now it gives you a lot of repeating work.

Yes, I agree with you. Now a days there is a lot of copy and paste. Good to know you try to make it unique while answer. I read all the answer and find all good. They were not copy and paste of each other and all were great including yours.

There's nothing wrong with that. It's what the writer was hoping to pull from you while they were working on the screenplay. I can only hope that someone feels a certain emotion that I write about. That is really meaningful to me, having someone get what I was trying to say.

I don't control it. If a film (or other situation) makes me weepy, I cry my eyes out. I feel holding on and bottling it up is not good. We have to let it out. I have one film, quite old, which I have seen several times and even know some of the lines off by heart and no matter what I do I cannot watch it without crying my heart out at the end. The film is called 'Revenge' with Anthony Quinn and Kevin Costner and the story is sad. I arm myself with tissues if I watch it because I know that's what will happen at then end. I even cried when I saw E.T. and Dirty Dancing for the first time. That's me - if it's time to laugh I laugh but when it's time to cry I'm like a fountain

I'm the same way and have been all of my life. I've even cried during a music video! There's really nothing you can do about it so just have some tissues handy and go with the flow. If anyone says anything to you about crying throw the tissue at them!

Not exactly at sentimental movies but of those which show heroic human sacrifice on behalf of others, or also when human cruelty is shown -not the fictional one, but the thoughtless cruelty of the "normal" citizen. These are mostly movies of the historic or biographic genre narrating true stories, or stories that involve real circunstances. Then my eyes get wet, cant' stop it. But I'm not ashamed of it, it just moves some emotional strings.
