becuase i live in an apartment and there is no way i can let him outside the door, will it possible for me to have him inside the house all the time, my daughter is so alone (she is the only kid, she is 3) and she loves pets especially dogs, so i thought it would be the right time for her to get a pet, i.e., a dog..please give me your suggestions...

why don't you try cats. the good thing about cat is that they know where to go when they need to excrete their waste. all you need is a litter box. they are not as energetic as dogs. you don't need to worry if they would be knocking off you things if you are living in an apartment. me and my girlfriend have 2 siberian cats and we are also living in an apartment.

the main reason i need a pet is for my daughter, would she have a nice time with a cat or a dog or any other pets is the question, can you be more descriptive about having a cat

they are very flirty. and they will play with you just like a dog does. but don't expect that you can play fetch with them. your daughter can use a yarn or a ruler to play with the cat. i'm sure she will love them. cats likes to be pampered and to be given attention to. they will be your alarm clock if you let them roam around inside your bedroom. cats and dogs are actually very similar. the only difference is they are less active and don't expect that you can roam it outside which is actually favorable to you. you don't need to worry about your daughter having to go outside just to have her cat pee or poop like a dog does. i hope this will help you make a decision.:)

My Aunt has 2 doxins and lived in an apartment for quite some time with them. After awhile though having to take them out for a walk in any kind of weather got old and she moved into a house so that they had a large backyard.

There's nothing wrong with keeping a dog in an apartment as long as the dog gets sufficient exercise. Dogs actually belong inside the house or apartment with their people, not outside alone like many people seem to think. Anyway you should keep in mind that a dog with too much energy is a destructive dog, regardless of breed, and that is something you don't want in an apartment. Many small breeds are very active and require a lot of exercise as well, so you can't just be going by size thinking it will be okay. There's actually a lot of large size dogs that need a lot less exercise than small dogs do and not all dogs need a backyard. If there's a shelter or rescue nearby you can go look there and see if there's a match for you, perhaps an adult dog so you know the temperament of the dog would be better as puppies are an incredible amount of work and will take up so much of your time that you won't have time for anything else.

Of course you can keep a dog in an apartment and your pet will be delighted to be with you. You can choose a small sized breed like a Miniature Schnauzer or a Havanese dog. These pets can live with you inside the house and manage to be happy and make you happy too. They will not hanker to stay ouside the house. You just have to ensure that they have their daily ose of walks and exercise in the open air. All the best!
