Is This A True Friend?

I am starting to question if some people in this world truly understand the meaning of friendship. As a true friend, I will help any of my friends in any way that I can. It may be financially or just emotionally, but I will do whatever I can to help. I invited a friend into my home when this person had no place else to go. Now, things are missing. My children are crying because their playstation is gone and they digital camera is not there. I left for one day and thins person came into my home and now my daugther is crying because her things are gone. So, we begin on our quest tomorrow to check all of the pawn shops to try to find the missing things. There is no doubt as to what happened to these things. I am angry and upset, but most of all, I feel helpless. Has this happened to anyone? Does anyone have any suggestions as to what we can do?

I'm so sorry this happened to you when you were being such a good friend and helping someone out. What a cruel and disgusting way to repay you! I hope this person has now left your home, and has no way to get back in. This is awful for your daughter too, and it's sad she is learning a lesson about untrustworthy people so early in life. I really hope you are able to find your belongings at the pawn shop, and that you are able to get them back without having to pay. Maybe you could get the police involved? I know it sounds harsh when this person was a friend - but you certainly don't owe them any favours!
