It's awful, but God has a plan. I think I'm a bitter person when it comes to things like this and I see all those people whining wanting us to help other countries. We need to help US first.I'm not in the flood areas but I make sure I watch it on the news.

Yes, I believe that God has a plan, but not for us to be destroyed but to wake up and know that He is God and to come to him on our accord. Plus as I have been taught, these are the last days here. Too many occurrences are going on in this earth's history. Tsunami? come on, before 2004, who has ever heard of that? Moving past that, my mother, who is an immigrant to this country ironically, always told me that charity begins at home then goes abroad. I also feel that this nation that we live in is exceedingly blessed by the Lord as well. If we have to give, then give to those who don't. Other countries have been taught that America is the place to be, rich, this and that, so they feel that we should help, but we also know that that is not always the case. You gotta work for yours in this country, and sometimes there are those who haven't, but bypassing those who want us to, do what you can. you should help if you can.

I get angry about that same thing all the time. ALl the things going on here - earthquakes, Katrina's, Calif wild fires (I was very near the Grand Prix rage 3 years ago, packed and ready to leave) the mid west floods literally destroying alot of our food supply and the transportation the Mississippi provides...good grief.. 9/11.. and what country is offering help to us? Yet, let some country have an outbreak of acne and US is giving them everything and then some. Why can't we help ourselves for awhile?

I do not mean to be a "Smart Aleck," but, if God has a plan, then why do we need to do anything? Why not just let God do what he is going to do? I do not understand how, one moment someone says that God has his plan, and that what he wants will happen. And then the next moment, the same person is like, "We have to help these people." Well, if they're sitting on their roof, avoiding the water sweeping by their house, they must be up there for a reason, right? God has his plan? I know, I must not understand.
I am not religious, but I will respect your views. I go by a completely scientific viewpoint, and I think that the rain is happening for scientific reasons, and that people need other people to help them out of a situation if the cannot help themselves. And you are right, the U.S. needs to help itself before it helps other countries. A lot of other countries think that the U.S. is butting in to their lives and everything. I think one day, the U.S. should randomly withdraw every ounce of assistance that is has in every last location on the earth, and just sit back for the next five years and see what happens.

well, you cant predict what God does. you cannot tell God what to do. but in a way, we were all guilty for that. many people thought that fire was caused by global warming. its out fault!
