One of my friends is very addict to playing online games. Since she has an unlimited broadband connection, she sits in front of the computer after her husband leaves to work. From 10am she plays online games. I do not know if she would be having her lunch atleast.I'm really wondered how people become addict to playing online games. Have you ever played online games? Or you addict to it?

I have played games online, but luckily have never got addicted to it. There are people I know who have, and it can cause a lot of problems both in the family and workplace/ school.
It can get the people into dpression, they stop socialising and they stop caring for th outside world.

yes, I too have noticed many differences in her behavior after this. She speaks less, always thinks and talks about the games only..I feel pitty for her husband.Playing online games to some extent can be an enjoyment but getting addicted to it is always dangerous.

I have ever played online games. but I was not addicted to it because as time goes by, i find it rather boring as i have to hit several 'monsters' with my character continuously .. haha.. but I do have a friend who is addictive to online games such as maplesea etc. According from what my other friends have said to me, this particular person actually played online games throughout the whole night till morning. He could actually, skip his lunch and take only dinner which could really last his whole day. and this sort of lifestyle continues everyday. As he used to be a rather overweight person, today, he has eventually managed to slim down and become acceptable weight. :)

I think your friend is just like mine. She too is in the same condition only. We have advised her a lot..But no change at all.Let us see what changes her..It is really terrible when one forgets to take care of himself just because he got addicted to internet or online games..

I do play online game but I am not as addicted as I do not watch the game all the time. I just visit the gaem from time to time to see the progress of the game. I hope she would stil spend some real time with family and friends and not spend the rest of her days online.

yes, that is good that you are not addicted to it..I have adviced my friend a lot as she is missing the worthy time with her family and friends. To tell the truth, she has become mentally sick. Her world has become small now, just in a room. This has been happening just for the past 4 months. Hope she will get back to normal very soon.

My son is addicted to online games. He plays it all the time and he seems to be quite good at it. Still, he could spend his time better if he would just do a little mylotting.

hi smilyn. I have played onlinee games many times. I like forums, which have their own arcades. So you can compete with others an bit a highstore:).
It is really entertaining to play online games, especially when I am very tired after work and I want to do something to relax. But I don't think I am addicted to playing online games. I like it, but I don't do it often. Lately I don't have much time to play games, so I think I have played only few times this month.
When it comes to your friend, she could be addicted. Or maybe she has just discovered that online games are interesting and entertaining and she will reduce number of hours she plays games soon.
Have a nice day, jazgottt.

yes, we too are hoping for the best that soon she should reduce the hours spent. She has become mentally sick. Her world has become small. She lost all her sleeps, food and is now with a bad health. Yet she is not able to control herself.Good that you just play the games and is not addicted.

Maybe try to recommend mylot to your friend. If she spends so many hours online, she would be rich.
And seriously, I think that she could have other problems in her life, and playing games can be only a result of bad days. It is only my opinion of course, maybe she simply enjoys playing games so much. But often people who seem to be addicted to something have complicated life and try to escape from this.
If she really feels bad she can hide in her little world and play games to forget about troubles. Maybe try to spend more time with her, maybe think about things she used to like, maybe going to a cinema, and try to induce her to go out. Maybe friends are busy and she has nothing to do, so she acts this way.
I hope she will reduce number of hours online, because of her health.
Take care, jazgottt.

Oh my goodness.. I'm an online game addict. Since 2001, I've played Ragnarok Online (which I am still playing now), then I've tried a couple more such as Tantra, Khan Online, Rose Online, MU Online, Pangya, Ran, and waaaay back playing Starcraft: Broodwar online as well.
As long as I'm at home with my PC and internet connection at peak rate, you bet I'll be on my way playing games. It's a good thing, I get to divide my time pretty well on the net, surfing, mylot, games.

Yes, i played online games, and offline games as well but i never got addicted by the online ones. My brother however was really addicted by World of Warcraft and he used to play it all day long, and he only used to eat when he was really hungry - that was quite sad. He quit that game, but started another one: EVE Online, which is basically the same thing for him - still loosing all day there in front of the P.C.

yes, that is the sad part of playing online games. You forget to take care of yourself - you forget to eat, loose your sleep, do not do the regular activities....You know that it is unhealthy.Have you ever tried to avoid playing the games? Can you resist yourself without playing the games? Why don't you give a try?

Yes, I play online games. I love to play at POGO. Canasta is one of my favorite games and it's so nice to be able to sit down at the computer and play a few games of Canasta when I am home alone. But I'm not addicted to them.
If anything, I am more addicted to sites like MyLot. I think I spend more time here than anywhere else on the internet. :o)

ha..ha..that is interesting..Spending more time at mylot is at times good. You have variety of discussions in a wide range of interests. So you get a good chance for thinking and also relaxing. But still too much of anything is harmful..lol...And happy that you are not addicted to playing online games.

I play games on Pogo and do sometimes spend more time than I think I should. If I'm not at work I probably spend about an hour during the day playing games and then do some surveys/myLot posts and answer emails. I do have other hobbies and activities but, I guess i'd miss playing.

There are many different kinds of online games. You should find first the game that suits your interest or whatever game that makes you feel attracted to it. Then try playing it. What makes it addicting is how players enjoys the game. They will not be addict to it if they do not enjoy playing it. Online Casino is one of these online games. So if you enjoy gambling, and have a good connection of internet at home, this game is for you. Good luck and hopefully, your lifestyle will not change after trying ^_^

Well, addicted is joked about; but real addicts are a scary thing. There are many of us gamers who play video games on the internet. It is fun! But, it doesn't get out of control.
I have really enjoyed video games for years. Online, regular etc.
Also, note that the future belongs to anyone that knows about computers and hence, video games. the military will be controlled that way.

Knowing how to play the games does not harm. But playing the games in such a way that the user forgets to take care of himself and his family is something that can never be accepted. This is a terribl status of addiction. Though my friend is not in the last stage, she is addicted. She forgets to take care of herself. Though we have advised a lot, she never hears us.Hoping for the best.

I am not one to play many games, but I have before . if she is new at playing them she just might have to get it out of her system and then things will get back to normal . I think you can be hooked on anything if you ask me.
