mE?? very much rabbis is infectious. And I am extra careful when I know there is a dog that surround me. But just an hour aog I almost bitten by a dog. I used to go to my friends house every now and then. I enter the house directly because ai used to do that and she told me to enter quickly because she has something to show me. Huh!!! I was not informed that they just purchase a dog from a pet shop a labrador. The dog bark me loudly. I mean a pet because I think the dog is just a months old.
Being fearful so fearful at that moment my friend just laugh at me..huh!! I love dogs very much infact I have one and I love my dog his name is boknoy, but for other dogs that I still don't know I really scream at them.. so better If I have a friend who has a dog let me know first so that I can make friends with the dog first heheheh..HOw about you? are you afraid of dogs?

Well, I'm sure everyone is afarid to be bitten by a dog, it doesn't feel good...lol. I've actually BEEN bitten by a dog before, a couple of times. But I don't worry about rabies or anything like that because the time that I would most likely be bitten by a dog is at my work, and the dogs there HAVE to have certain shops before they can stay with us.
My bites were never too bad, but they did break the skin. I defeniatly would try to avoid being bitten, but it is not a constant fear of mine-even though I work around dogs everyday.

Oh no! lol. I could never be a vet, not too good with blood/surgery and all that stuff! lol. I work nights at a PetSmart PetsHotel. I keep the dogs safe during the night (10pm-6am) and make sure they stay happy and healthy! =P lol.

I agree its the pain of the bite I'm afraid of. Sure rabies would suck but that wouldn't be my first fear. I've never been bitten by a dog but I have been bitten by a squirrel. It was my fault of course since I was teasing the squirrel but it really hurt. In fact I was also bitten by a rabbit so if these tiny creatures can cause an enormous amount of pain I dont want to imagine the pain of a dog bite. I love dogs though. I have one and he is so sweet to me.

you're right. dogs have a good sense of fear. that's what i do, too. relax, calm down and the dog will feel relaxed and calmed, too. if you show them you are too scared and when you start shouting at them, they will just be more in control and agressive towards you.

an interesting topic.
for me, i am in a paradox situation, i own two dogs at home, whereas, whenever other people`s dogs are coming nearby, i can not control my feeling of fear, which arises may be partly because rabies is so prevalent that make me feel sick, or partly because the dog`s instinction of bitting leads me to keep away from it spontaneously.
frankly, i love my dogs very much and always play with them, maybe i can sure that my dogs won`t bite me. i convint that dog is our loyal friend that won`t betray us, it will keep the thief away from us, and will accompany us when we are in sadness or depressed.

I love dogs as well but there are just dogs that are aggressive enough that are not yet properly tamed by owners. I think feeling afraid is a normal biological reaction to make your awareness awake. Some say that dogs can feel your fear so the more you show you are afraid the more they become aggressive. So better show or at least let the dog feel that you are not afraid or intimidated at least.

I apologize to all the dog-lovers out there but, the mere sight of a dog frightens the hell out of me. I had this experience when i was 5 or 6 where i took a bone out of a dog's mouth forcefully and, well, you know what happens if you do that. I had to suffer for two agonizing weeks from that dog bite and until now i guess that trauma still haunts me. So to answer your question, no i am not afraid to be bitten by a dog. The mere thought of being bitten by a dog terrifies me. I just had to emphasize that hehehe...

I'm not afraid of the dog. I'm afraid that I will be infected with Rabies. I was bitten a month ago, I am not afraid of blood but I'm afraid because I am not sure if the dog has rabies. Frankly, he's my dog. A half-breed dog, no vaccine at all but I never permit him to stray outside. A dog can acquire rabies if he/she is stray dogs. Who eats anything outside, eating some dirt and even socializing with stray dogs who are infected with rabies. Not all dogs has a rabies unless they acquire, so better yet be sure your dog or your friends dog has a anti rabies vaccine. I am now safe from a bite of any animals. I have a full-exposure anti rabies and will expired on 2011.So be careful with dogs, because even you own the dog he/she may bite you accidentally, 'coz this was happened to me.

I have been the owner of several dogs. I just love them. I was bit on my thigh by a neighborhood dog when I was about 9. I was going to school early that day to meet up with a girlfriend. Needless to say, I never made it. The lady down the street let her dog out early unchained to run around the yard. Eventhough I was attacked as a kid, I think a dog is the best pet one can have.

Yeah a little bit specially if there's a lot of dogs on your area and most of them are owned by irresponsible owners who just let them loose all the time.
All dogs should be vaccinated for everyone's sake

I do not want to be bitten by anything and that includes bugs! I am least scared of dogs as I have been around them all my life and never been bitten. Had an odd nip but only if I deserved it!

I never thought about it. I find dogs so cute that I never thought I would get bitten by them. I hope such things will never happen. If one day, a fierce dog runs towards me, I'll definitely run for my life.

I'm not really afraid of dogs biting me, and before I had my daughter I never really thought about this and used to like to stroke dogs that I met. But now I'm a bit scared for her, as she's so small and dogs, especially ones that you don't know, are unpredictable. My daughter's so trusting and so far really likes animals so I don't want to put her off and make her scared too, but I am a bit wary of them now.

No, I'm not afraid of dogs at all. I was bitten when I was 4 years old, very badly. I almost lost the fingers on one hand. But, it didn't make me afraid of dogs. I have three of my own, one of which is a large German Shepherd.
I would recommend that you not scream at a dog. If you were screaming at your friend's dog its no wonder it barked at you. Dogs pick up on feelings and if you are afraid, they can sense it. Usually if you will be calm around a dog they will be calm also.
