Has anyone seen the movie August Rush? I just finished watching it and was wondering if it was a real story or not?

i dont know if it is true or not either, but i did like the movie. and i was so upset at how her father lied to her.

So was i. it broke my heart and the end of the movie ended too quick i think, i would have liked to have seen a bit more but it ended with so much happiness. It was such a good movie to bring right through the story line.

This is one of the best movies I have seen in a very long time. Music is my "thing", I don't play anything- just play at being a local DJ.
The love story and the scenes with the boy, his real dad
and the guitar were totally awesome. In my mind, I'd like to think that this is a true story...
It was so deep and the beauty of the story had me mesmerized.

I have heard that some people say that it is based on a true story, but I don't think everything in the movie is part of a true story. I'm a musician myself and know that there are SOME child prodigies out there that blow minds and get into Julliard for free, so the story could be based on a true story.
The movie takes place in modern days though so it wouldn't be TOO accurate of a true story because I am pretty sure that everyone would have known the name August Rush by now before the movie or at least known about some kid that composed a Rhapsody to find his real parents :P
Other than that, the movie as amazing and I highly recommend it to anyone who likes good movies.
