it all depends on the child. i have four children and they have all different ages when they start walking. my second born was the fates for she was walking when she reached her nineth month. they will be the one to show you if they are ready to walk. and bas from experience you dont have to teach them how to walk they qwill learn that by themselves just be there to guide so they wont hit there head if they stumble.

my children used walkers too but still you have to be there to watch what they are doing for a lot of accident is related to walkers. it is also okay if you dont put your child in a walker for he can learn to learn how to balance himself faster

If he is apt to stand more, I would advice to buy a walker. Helphim a few days. Then every thing will be safe. You can even put the child on the walker and do your chores.
I bought walker when my son was 4 months. He was interested in walking from that time. But5 months seem to be the best.

You don't teach kids to walk as such - they will get it when they're ready & most kids will do it around the 12 month mark!
My daughter would stand early as well but she was still crawling a long time before she was walking.
Don't force your child to walk too early as their little body isn't ready to hold all of the weight they carry. Their little bodies need to fill out a bit so their leg muscles are strong to hold the other weight - hence why crawling comes first.
Just let him do his own thing & he'll walk when he's good & ready but don't force the issue or you could do damage to his little bones.

My kids both pretty much taught themselves to walk. My son was 9 months when he started walking and my daughter was 8 months old. If he is 5 months old now I would suggest letting him grab your fingers and encourage him to walk holding onto you fingers.

well i would say that if he is enjoying stand more than sitting or crawling then he should be walking soon. my son started walking at about 9 or 10 months. he started out standing alot and i just helped him from there. i know that all kids are different but most of the kids i know are potty trained by the time they are 2 and it would look wierd if your child was wearing briefs and still crawling around on the floor. But your son is headed in the right direction. you could try holding something in front of him and seeing if he will make a move towards it, or you could hold him up and let him go just to see how long he will stand up on his own. but be patient, before you know it he will be moving so fast even you wont be able to keep up with him.
